I'm excited, are you excited?

I'm so excited for the release of ED. Yes, it may be almost what we are playing today but, that's a great thing. Also, ED will grow, get better and have new features/content in months to come.

I love what we have today, in all it's glorious imperfections. I dream of what it may become. I so very much want my sons and daughters to one day join me in amazing space adventures and i believe one day they will, once (hopefully) more co-op MP tools are added.

The last 6 months have been a wonderful experience for me. I can't wait to get going proper and see what the people at Frontier can cook up in the future. I have visions of people banding together and making their way in the galaxy, for good or ill. There's just so much possibility with this game and what we have has been enough to keep me playing for months. That, in an of itself is a remarkable achievement in today's gaming industry.

That'll do Frontier, that'll do :D

about as excited as I was seeing Sagitarius A*
I am literally one great big bulging throbbing ball of excitement.
It is so impossibly hard for my to contain my excitement that it feels like I am going to burst!!!!
Soon I will write a poem about my excitement, maybe I post it in this thread so it can increase
your excitement even further?

I don't think I've anticipated the release of a game quite as much as this for quite a few years now. Probably since Dark Souls was first announced. Dark Souls then went on to be one of my all-time favourite games, so I cannot wait to dive into Elite once it's launched!

I read about the game and was excited, I played and was less excited, they never seem to fix anything that's broken and I am less excited. They don't add the content that was sold to me and I am less excited. I found out they are not going to even try to put in the offline solo mode they sold me and I was less excited. At this point I literally couldn't be less excited about this so called game than I am now:S.

I've been in since he Alphas and I'm excited! So excited, I'll be releasing one new Elite: Dangerous video every day until release, starting tomorrow - The first Tutorial - Launching and Docking!

for all the moaning people do it's not usually about the actual game, more their inability to learn to play it.

the game is generally very nice and usually sells people just on 400b random systems and how nice it looks.

everything else is just gravy, but this is why there are so many posts when people see something they don't think is right (IE acretion disks and binary stars like Ibootis not being tier shaped and feeding) because people are just here for the sight-seeing

Heck yeah son now if I could get my apartment move out the way I can enjoy Release when it comes out... good thing it's the week after :D

I was super excited for Gamma because I thought it was official backer's headstart.

But now I'm trying to not play and postpone my excitement for release because of pending potential wipe. It has killed a little bit of the excitement for me I must admit... But I'm optimistic excitement will return when they have some cool stuff to announce for launch. (at least that's what I'm hoping)

That's a really unfair misrepresentation of a lot of people's views...

A lot of us are very disappointed with Frontier's lack of communication skills and give them the criticism they deserve on this subject, others simply report the rather glaring bugs and lack of content that still blights this otherwise absolutely sublime game.

I certainly do both the above, and so should you, it does after all help improve both Frontier's communication strategies and the overall technical quality of the game. That's what criticism is supposed to do after all, to identify negatives which can be analysed and improved upon. I'm kind of tired of fanboys on here pretending that the game is perfect and giving negative rep to people who perfectly reasonably point out the legitimate flaws in the game and the way communication has been handled. To go even further and claim that these people can't play the game is frankly stupid, I certainly can play any of the roles in the game and am particularly decent at dogfigthing... So how then is when (bug) I get fined for firing on a wanted NPC (who is already firing on me!) somehow my fault? Oh don't get me wrong, I really, really, really enjoy ED... Perhaps more so than in any other game save Frontier and FFE... But we still need criticism to solve issues like the one I just mentioned. That, after all, is what testing is all about!

But to the OP, yes very excited, at the moment we still don't know whether or not there will be a wipe, and if there is what form it will take, i.e. partial, full etc. The 16th then is the first day we can confidently carry on from where FFE left off, something many of us have been waiting a very long time for indeed.
