Looks very multi role rather than hauler.

I used to run all D grade, A grade FSD, smallest shield was a class 4 bi-weave I think with loads of boosters to tank it up a bit.

Weapons were a full mine load out for defence.

Then max out cargo racks.

I made a lot of money in that ship as I could bulk haul to outposts and get the better market prices.

Yep, very survivable. Just know when to run.

Get better thrusters or get the 6c tuned as soon as you can. My Python can out run a cobra mkiii if required and turns on a six pence, admittedly a large six pence.

Would this be alright for a pure haulage Python on the "cheap", as it were? Just need it to survive, as I won't battle with it until I have many more credits.

Give me something to read in the morning. :)

You honestly don't need half of that stuff. There's no point having guns on it for a start. If you get interdicted by a high ranking NPC they won't really help your defences will just get torn up.

also really depends on what kind of haulage you plan on doing.

Long range hauling (IE Rares or Sothis runs): https://coriolis.io/outfit/python/0...18eQ==.CwBhrSuhGNgkA===?bn=Long range hauling (Downsize the Fuel scoop as required to fit budget / other requirements personally I prefer to have the largest scoop my ship can fit when travelling long range)

Short range bulk trading: https://coriolis.io/outfit/python/0...8eQ==.CwBhrSuhGNgkA===?bn=Short range hauling

If you're not carrying guns you don't need a particularly good Distributor, it just needs to be big enough to allow you to boost. You can also downsize the power plant, either to a 5A or 6A. Even with your current build, the 6A would give you more power and better heat efficiency than your 7D while also weighing less.

When you get interdicted by weaker ships submit, chaff and jump out. Get interdicted by a bigger more dangerous ship submit, Chaff, Heatsink, Jump out.

Personally I'd say your build is everything except a haulage python and more of a hybrid general purpose/attempted combat build.
If you don't plan on battling, why bother packing an fsd interdictor and an HRP?
Are you a fuelrat? if not, drop the fuel transfer limpet controllers!
vehicle hanger? if you want to do some exploring i guess, but as those are omnipresent, I personally find it better to stack up on cargo and just purchase a vehicle hangar in system.
pure haulage python loaded up with weapons other than mines?
