I'm having a problem getting motivated

Hello Commanders,
I play Elite on PS4 and after the recent console news I had planned on making a bucket list before the game goes permanently dark.
The problem is I just can't get motivated to really even want to play. Why? Maybe because now I know that Fdev doesn't give a fig about console players.
Maybe because the game eventually will go dark because the player base is practically nothing.
Maybe because even if I do something like discover a new Nebula it won't matter b/c consoles days are numbered and Fdev probably won't credit our discoveries in PC land.
Maybe I just don't want to put time into a game that has told some of it's players that they don't matter.
I'm pretty sure I'll get some grief about this post, or a nice egg in these trying times but I just needed to get this out there.

I don't want any player to leave but I understand how you feel and perhaps this is the point that you listen to your heart and take a break from it? Do you want to see more systems, fight more ships or trade on? If so, play on! But what is it that you really want to get out of the game?

So do it?

But how do you feel?

Been doomed since it launched, allegedly.

It is a shared galaxy - your 'finds' will remain yours until the game sunsets, regardless of platform a discovery is a discovery.
Maybe I just don't want to put time into a game that has told some of it's players that they don't matter.
Don't then?

I'll make a point of asking Leo to not deliver you one...

Discoveries are definitely cross platform.
I know how you feel, though heading out to the black is a good move to take the strain off and gain some perspective. Far more relaxing than the Bubble.

All my PS4 discoveries are properly tagged on PC. In fact, there's probably more "OneOldDuck" tags (my PS4 CMDR) than there are "Old Duck" tags from my PC CMDR.

I don't think that even deleting an account makes those tags go away, but I could be wrong.

Happens to the most of us, I'd wager. With me, it's usually a break every year for a month or two, playing something different. Last time, that was CP2077.

This isn't an egg themed post (ie I'm not taking the P), but I think you need this guy:-

Yep they seem stored with the body. I asked for cmdr rename once, and during the communication with support they stated that discoveries do not get updated to the change.

There does seem to be an odd bug i discovered with my own data though, if you go and sell cartographics data ontop of these renamed commanders, it seems to overwrite the tags with you.

I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to these days........& I'v got Odyssey on my laptop.

I'm tending to just go on & muck around until I hit my 400 ARX limit, then leave it there.........that's usually two or three Settlement Raid missions, then I'm done.....usually by Friday/Saturday.

There's not much that interests me atm, not since I modded up my Suits & Weapons.

Accurate poster that!

When Sky sacked the older football pundits & what seems a lot of their Staff & replaced them with amatuers (judging by the quality drop of the football programmes).......They're right! I stopped watching them
:)

Have you leant nothing from the forums? When something doesn't go how you want you should hang around complaining and telling everyone how unhappy you are ;)

Pretty much my sentiment sice engineers.

I haven't heard any official word that ED on console will eventually be shut down. It won't be updated any further, but that just means no new bugs. What's the problem?
