Nervous- maybe not.
Tense for sure.

It's the first Christmas that sees me quite engaged and excited. Feeling like a kid again! :p

I am actually more nervous about Sunday, when I hope the Crimson State Campaign for an Independent Lugh will have triggered a civil war.

For me release will mostly be an annoyance. Server problems, newbie questions on the forums, newbie praise on the forums, rants on the forums, etc.

Since communication of positive : negative is usually 1:10, the forums will explode in a state of wailing and moaning. But then, this isn't much different from now.

I bought beta access and all .. but on 16th is the real deal .. so excited (yes) would be better word than nervous ;) ...

party time ;) as soon as I'm done with my job ;)

Just slightly worried that the servers aren't going to be able to cope on 16th December with a massive influx of new commanders without some proper load testing. Maybe FD should have opened up the game a few days earlier for Mercenary Edition buyers to double check as the servers seem to be struggling a lot in Gamma mode now! :/

Apart from that very excited about playing the next generation version of Elite (I played all three previous versions extensively since 1984)

I'm as excited as hell! The 16th is my last day at work until Jan 5th so the 17th will be the proper day one for me (servers are usually rammed and buggy on release day anyway so probably a good thing). I've played a little bit in beta/gamma just to get the feel of the game but I've deliberately restricted my time & activity so as it wont spoil things for final release. I did manage to get myself a Cobra MkIII (I just had to!!) and upgrade it a little but that's as fas as I've got.

Bought myself an X52 Pro, set up Voice Attack, tested out the game in 3 screen eyefinity mode (works brilliantly) and managed to persuade the misses to buy me TrackIR for xmas so got that to look forward to as well!

All in all this has been the best christmas since the kids were little. I actually feel like a little kid myself!

All I need now is a case of decent beer and maybe some snacks and I'm all set for the 17th.

Bring it on!

I'm nervous, too! Spent an hour in the combat simulator today and didn't make it beyond wave two in "Incursion"
Only another four days to practice...

Everyone gets a little anxious about new releases. It is only after you have released a few times when things become more fun. Performance anxiety is a well known medical phenomenon

the game is decent, but not earth shattering. If they ad more content it could be really good but as it is now i expect it to flop and have poor sales. EVE makes 70 MILLION a year and ED will never reach the status of EVE unless they add a TON more content.

Is that not because EVE is a subscription based model?

I am quite confident to state that if Eve had no subscription based model but charged a fee for every "expansion" and had the ingame boutique from the start they would have made way more than 70m a year.

I bet you're not as nervous as frontier are. Will the severs cope ?

But then again the paying public seem to be conditioned these days to games having server issues on launch day.
My son plays Fifa, CoD etc on console and whenever there is a new release the servers struggle for the first few days.
