Im new on PC

Hey there! I am new on Planet Coaster and need a bit of help...
I have been advised that I could run PC on a External Hard Drive, so I did - half an hour later and after trying to place a Blueprint that I subscribed to, the game shut down and my computer showed me a message saying "close Programs to prevent information loss - your computer is low on memory, save your files and close these programs - Planet Coaster"

I was a bit baffled because my memory was fine, my C drive still had lots of room and looking at the Minimum and Maximum requirements for my laptop it should be working fine...
A friend of mine who uses Steam but not PC said I should just restart my laptop... Is this the only solution or is there more?
Thanks!

Ps my PC info is:
System: Windows 8.1
Procesor: Intel(R) Celeron(R)
Memory: 2048 RAM
Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics

I'm would expect its your computer not meeting the minimum requirements to run the game. It looks like you don't have a dedicated graphics card and I'm guessing that 2gb of ram is also insufficient. I'm not sure what your CPU is, but I get the feeling any processor with "Celeron" in its name is also not a capable processor.

The minimum requirements are found here https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=292

Minimum and recommended system requirements for Planet Coaster

Minimum:

OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) or more recent (8.1, 10).
Processor: Intel i5-2300 or AMD FX-4300
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GTX 560 (2GB)/AMD Radeon 7850 (2GB)
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 8GB available

Recommended:

OS: Windows 7 (SP1+)/8.1/10 64bit
Processor: Intel i7-4770 or AMD FX-8350
Memory: 12GB RAM
Graphics: nVidia GTX 980 (4GB)/AMD R9 380 (4GB)
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 8GB available

Sorry for the bad news :(

Even with the limited information you have given, you computer is well below the minimum requirements to run this game.

When it says 'your computer is low on memory' it is referring to your RAM memory and not your storage memory. 2048MB Ram is very very low by todays standards. My computer uses more than that just sitting on the desktop doing nothing. Then a Celeron processor and Intel HD graphics are well below the minimums required to run this game, I am sorry to say.

Like others have pointed out, your computer is well under the minimum requirements unfortunately. I also want to point out that you shouldn't install games on external hard drives (or really any program). Looking at the specs of your computer, you probably don't have USB 3.0 so external HDDs are extremely slow, and even with 3.0 they are a lot slower than regular HDDs.

What's the solution then?

Well Guys I DO have a 3.0 USB
And what am I supposed to do? Because otherwise Planet Coaster was running fine thank you very much.
When I first installed it on my laptop. the Next day it crashed WAS to do with storage space.
And if you look at Steam it does say you CAN run games off a hard drive.

Thank you very much

You said a message came up saying 'close Programs to prevent information loss - your computer is low on memory, save your files and close these programs'

That message is a generic Windows message and is NOTHING to do with storage space, it is referring to your RAM memory. Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements, you have 2GB of RAM memory and that is very very low by todays standards and is well below what is needed to run Planet Coaster. Hence why you are getting the 'your computer is low on memory' message.

You are quite clearly getting storage memory and RAM memory mixed up, they are two completly different and seperate things.

Also no one said you couldnt run games off an external hard drive, just that it is not advisable as it takes much longer to read the games from an external hard drive.

So the solution is I need a gamin Laptop?

So the the solution is I need a gaming laptop?
Cause I went on a website called Can I Run This? Which scanned my system and it did indeed say I couldn't so I think I need to get a gaming laptop.

So I need a gaming laptop then?

You can get a laptop if you want, but laptops are better for people who need to take their laptop on the road. A desktop PC is usually considered better for gaming, because it is easier to upgrade. Laptops are not easily upgraded, meaning if you get a 3.0GHZ CPU in a laptop, your stuck with that until you buy a whole new laptop. But with a desktop, you can easily swap the CPU out for a new one.

If you are not good with computers, then having the ability to upgrade may not be important to you. But it is also worth noting that buying a pre-built PC is more expensive than buying the parts and assembling it yourself. Laptops can have more heating issues because of their size, which is another reason why desktops are better for gaming. Also, there is not really such a thing as a "gaming" PC or "gaming" laptops, there are just more powerful machines and less powerful machines. But desktops are usually superior

If you want to play a new game like Planet Coaster, you need to make sure your computer specs meet the minimum requirements. However, just because you meet the minimum requirements it does not mean the game will run smoothly. The larger and more detailed a park is, the more power your computer will need. For a game like Planet Coaster to run at maximum performance, you need a really powerful computer. Even top of the line computers will start to lag when building extremely detailed parks. This is because Planet Coaster pushes the CPU to its limits when displaying thousands of guests, but hopefully things will be better in a couple years when we have faster CPUs. RCT3 was the same way 12 years ago.

Here is what you need to know when buying a computer (expect to spend at least $700 to play this game):

The most important part of your computer is the CPU. A game like Planet Coaster requires at least 2.5 GHz but 3.5 is recommended, and like I said even a 4.5GHz CPU will lag with very large parks. If you are not building extremely large and detailed parks, then you will be fine with a 3.5 GHz CPU

Next is the GPU (or Graphics Card) currently most GPUs run around 2 to 4 GB, which is good enough for Planet Coaster, because this game takes more CPU than GPU (opposite of most other games) of course if you want to record videos, more power is always better

Then you need RAM, the minimum is 8GB but 16GB is recommended (this is cheap and easy to upgrade, even in laptops)

And finally you have the HDD, which is how much space the game takes. HDD (or hard drives) are usually very large and are not a concern as most people have more than enough space on there HDD. but in recent years hard drives have been upgraded to SSD which are a little faster (and more expensive) but dont expect a significant increase in game performance from this.

Those are the 4 main requirements when buying a computer. If you need more help buying a new computer, feel free to ask :)

as a side note, you might be able to play RCT3 on your current computer, its still a great game for lower end computers

You forgot one important thing. The CPU needs to be a quad core at least (an i3 would not work).[up]

Ok thanks guys,
The reason why I said Gaming Laptop is because my parents are old fashioned and hate computer games so it needs to be something I can set up and put away quickly. But otherwise thanks!

I will look into RCT3 as that was what I was wanting before Planet Coaster
