I looked forward to this so much, and WOW I have had a good few weeks now pottering around. I keep hearing of power struggles and etc etc but I can't seem to come across anyone. Must be 3 days (on and off playing time) since I saw another CMDR player. I really feel like this game is on the cusp of being epic but it isn't quite there. Maybe I am missing something. Ill be honest I've had a few bevvies and maybe tomorrow I will be talking , but I just feel multiplayer is lacking something. I still feel like I am in single player, which in it's own right is good, but not what I was promised.

How is the social, fight together or apart element gonna come into it!

Ok the answers to this are actually very straightforward and has already been posted christ knows how many times.

1. CMDRs flock to certain systems. They are in the game, they just might not be where you are. I normally see at least a handful each night when I log in and often more.

2. Yes multi-player is currently lacking something. In fact it's lacking just about everything. You can play multi-player PvE in Group mode but don't expect any massive multi-player PvP battles in Open mode cause the match-making etc... stuff just isn't there yet. It's coming (a bit next month and then mostly in March with the Wings update).

No need to keep posting about this imho.

You may not be seeing anyone for a whole multitude of reasons.

Router config, your ISP, Elite's matchmaking service, the players you are matched with having similar problems, being in the middle of nowhere, playing in Solo mode by mistake, the list goes on.

Problem one is that even if all 300,000 players logged on at the same time, you'd only see the closest 32 or so. Problem two, those 300,000 are spread across potentially 400 billion stars. Problem three, there are three modes, Open, Solo and Group, each with 400 billion stars. Result seeing 'real' players is rare.

In reality, there are lots of choke points, try popping over to Lave in Open mode. Make sure you bring a gun. Or two. Maybe more, actually. :)

Also, probably at least 50% of the players you see (most likely quite a bit more) are going to be traders, explorers or bounty hunters, so don't expect them to come and attack you.

Doesn't stop any of the less useful threads droning on in multiplicity, does it? Luckily opinion =/= reality, so OP can continue to post whatever the heck he wants.

A good remedy for you might be to simply ignore posts like this, kind of a Solo Forum experience. I am trying this with other threads and my blood pressure has dropped several points in the last few days.

Fly in a Cobra to Lave or any of the neighbour systems. Alternatively, fly to the centre of the galaxy. You should see an occasional player there ;)

I agree totally it just feels like swimming through a sea of negativity to find the pearl of something constructive sometimes.
