Im not sure i made the right choice

Ok guys so your role here is convince me I did. xD

I used to have a Cobra with mostly C class modules and some B, and seeing as I don't enjoy trading very much but I'd rather bounty hunt and explore, I decided to trade it in for a Viper with almost everything at A class.
I'm not sure my choice was the right one. Sure, I destroyed an Anaconda in less then a minute with no hull damage thanks to my A class modules, but the small fuel tank and non existent cargo space of the Viper are somewhat a nuisance sometimes.
Seeing as I enjoy hunting much more than trading, do you think I made the right choice? Is the Viper that much better at hunting to be worth the,cargo loss? Also keep I mind my Viper is class A, while my Cobra was mostly class C.

On a side note, I noticed that you don't get back 100% of your money if you sell an upgraded ship, I think you do only if you sell the modules one by one before trading it in. Can anyone confirm?

I was under the impression that reselling was a flat 15% hit, regardless of item. Also, fwiw - any buyers remorse would make me eat the refund hit.

I've stuck to my Cobra, and not tried the Viper yet. I do enjoy a bit of hunting, but I do also do trade runs and the occasional mission. I basically just roll with what comes my way - so the Cobra makes sense. Then again, I basically have everything tricked out to A4, so yeah.

The Cobra NEEDS gimballed weapons for a good alpha strike... The positioning of the weapons on the Viper lets you get away with fixed ones - more damage.

The Viper is cheaper to upgrade as a combat ship - and insurance is cheaper....

But - the Viper is crap at exploring - (Get a Lakon and save up for an Asp? )

Viper rocks pretty hard, you can fit an 8 ton cargo bay. Mine had an interdictor and I was a scourge. Now I am a scourge in an asp... 6 guns!

What about side by side money comparison? With 2mln you can get a combat A class viper or a combat C/B class cobra. Is the viper much better, with that kind of money?
