I'm Petty Officer but still no Sol permit

Like the title says, I've gained the rank of Petty Officer yet I am unable to find a Federal Invitation at any of the Federation stations. I'm 38% into Petty Officer and now I'm going around paying off all of my fines and bounties because that's the only thing I can think of that might be blocking the Federal Invitation.

Anyways I hope someone can help shed some light on what I'm missing, thanks.

I think you can just enter SOL now, have you tried? It's been a long time for me since, but I think the invitation thingy is just worded poorly.

EDIT:

: Check your right-hand panel, you should be able to see if you've received the permit. If not submit a ticket with support, and they'll fix you up.

Have you checked your permits? You don't normally get invite missions for Federation permits, they are granted automatically on gaining the required rank.

The only major faction permit that needs an invitation is the Alioth system. This needs you to be allied with the Alioth Independants, which you can do by itself or by becomming allied with the Alliance.

Yep, the permits attained by gaining the requisite ranks with the Feds or Imps are automatically given to you; you don't need to apply for them or take a permit-granting mission to get them.

However, the permit doesn't appear instantly as soon as you get the rank-up. It can take anything from a few minutes to a couple of hours for the paperwork for the permit to be processed. ;)

It took a couple of DAYS for my permit to show up after getting the in-game message that I had been issued a Sol Permit.
