I'm predicting this first...

well ladies, gentlemen and everyone in the middle, today i am throwing an idea out about the what will be shown at E3 this year. and please note this my own opinion, and as always is less than 1% accurate at time of writing.

so first off i think they will show off the ps4 pro version of ED with possibly VR support, which would be amazing for ps4 pro owners and should answer a few unanswered questions you all have.

but if they show a promotional video, they will probably hint at space legs AGAIN!!!. but the video will probably be used to promote the now famously mysterious 2.4 update, and will of course have an unknown ship somewhere near the end.

short and sweet i know, but now we have release date might as talk about E3 as it is closer than Goldwinder launch day

Nah, I still don't buy this, the FAQ is very clear on the fact VR is not going to be at launch, launch is after E3. I think FDev might want to see how the release goes on PS4 before worrying about VR.

I am not even sure we will get to see much footage PS4 or PS4 Pro at E3 with respect to gameplay. PAX was very disappointing from a PS4 perspective.

Edit: Having said all that, they changed their mind on physical release so who knows!

I'm still curious as to why they're listed as attending tbh? Unless someone at the office has just bagged a ticket and is off on their jollies ;)

If not then chances are they're piggybacking on something else so my only guess would be some vr footage using a small slot with sony or just part of a coming soon promo Sony tend to show listing upcoming games for the year :)

After release though we can all start on at fdev for 2.4 and even season 3 info lol 😁

PSVR / PS Pro support is the sort of nice announcement that would make Sony happy and aid in selling the game on the PS4, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did announce this. Saying that I wouldn't mind atmospheric landings as a major "coming in 4.0" announcement either (alongside space legs of course)

No ETAs. No Guarantees. Added space loach for good measure.

Sadly I'm fairly sure you're right now. I must say, revealing PSVR support for ED at launch would have been a HUGE win but when I asked Ed about PSVR on a livestream recently he pretty much just cited the above line without the slightest hint of there being any other news he was holding back. Up until that point it seemed like such an obvious thing to do that I couldn't believe otherwise, now ... I wouldn't hold your breath if I was you.

i don't predict anything..

... i only hope to not be disappointed by everything will happens at the E3..
(if, something will happens).

Us "regular" PS4 owners, who make up the majority of the PS4 user base, also deserve amazing. I'm sure we'll get it, because XBox ED looks great (and Sony is supposedly strict about this). I just ask that PS4 Pro owners don't start mimicking some of the snobbery seen by a small percentage of the PC owners.

I have a PS4 Pro and I expect it to perform very well, but I think the regular PS4 will perform very well too. No snobbery from my side, I just enjoy playing and see my fellow forumites enjoy their game as well. Maybe the only difference is framerate and resolution. But having see the xbox, I know the PS4 will do just as good.

No snobbery here either, HZD shows what both machines can go with the same game, its all good. Hopefully FDev will deliver.

What is the plan for next season?
Where are we with PSVR?
PS4 PRO enhanced features (if any)?

If we get some of that - I'll be happy. NEWS - is what the community want - just NEWS - some kind of useful information.

PS4 PRO enhanced features (if any)?

There's two options when it comes to the Pro;

1. Developers take advantage of the extra power of the Pro
2. Boost mode on the PS4 OS tries to improve the frame rate of games released before this feature

To me this implies it's mostly frame rates that are affected. So, 60fps @ 1080/30 fps @ 4k on the pro and 30 fps @ 1080 for the regular seems a reasonable assumption, and gives owners of both devices a good experience. I think FPS is more important in the game as graphically it's pretty simple compared with something like Fallout 4 or Horizon Zero Dawn which is showing a rich natural environment. I'd certainly be happy with that and anything else is a bonus.

I would love PSVR to be revealed at E3 in line with the June launch.

I am sure that a working dev kit will have been running PSVR by now, it'll just be a case of optimisation to get it to an acceptable standard.

If it wasn't ready for launch, with a careful bit of wording, Sony could announce both an Elite launch at the end of June (....blah, blah, blah, best console, best resolution, best, best, best, etc...) and PSVR coming 'Summer 17' (... cheapest VR on the market, only console to support VR, moving gameplay onto the next level, etc...) and claim it as a double bonus

(But please FDev, PSVR for launch)

I'm not really interested in vr until it's wireless and more akin to holo lens tbh but from what the PC crowd say it won't really work very well on ps4/pro anyways :(

I'm more hoping for ios/android features! 😎

Way to bag something that's not actually been shown / tested with no evidence to support you opinion - every silver lining has a cloud eh? On a more positive note....not ALL the PC crowd dislike VR and Sony are definitely working on pushing VR as an in-game experience for the future as evidenced by the amount of VR games in development and some big titles coming out this year. New technology comes with bumps - you need to be able to resolve that in your mind to try these things IMO. That said - not everyone wants VR so hey - don't buy it - but don't arbitrarily be negative about it either - especially if it has absolutely zero impact on your in-game experience.

Each to their own - i have no interest in MC but as it has very little impact on me directly - i choose to move on...likewise i have zero desire for ios / android features but hey - you go crazy and enjoy it!!

I wouldn't worry I'm sure they'll get it working :) If you're that way inclined pc is the way to go tho :(

Vr looks amazing but until it's wireless and no more cumbersome than a pair of glasses it's not for me and I doubt the mainstream.

Android/ios IS the mainstream (like or loath) and would be a welcome addition as either a second screen or full blown game :)

As much as i'd like to see some VR news at E3, i don't think there's going to be any from what i've read.

My guess would be PS4 footage and some PS4 Pro footage, and a preview of upcoming content for all formats. At the end maybe a tease of a new ship(s)

EDIT - just found this, looks like the info from E3 will be coming to us throughout the event rather than in one presentation:

Also, a special event planned later in the year to announce news..... interesting
