After one month, it's safe to say it's going nicely. Right now i'm trying to stabilise at 12, MG and also don't have the urge to grab the ashtray& other smoking items anymore. The Smoke? Not missing it just a little.

I've struggled to quit for years now. Seems as though when I do quit every few years for a few months I go back to the blasted things stronger than before. It only takes one and within a week I'm back on them. Stopping is easy stopping forever is hard.

It's funny when i do quit and I catch the barest whiff of someone smoking. My reaction reminds me of that bit in Finding Nemo when the great white non fish eating shark catches a whiff of blood. The internal feeling is exactly like that for me.

Excellent. Congratulations!

Hey Jezzah, if you have access to it, try out Chantix. I tried bupropion, and although it did great for my mood and disposition, it did nothing for smoking. Chantix on the other had seems to be working for me very well. My quit date is June 30 and I am reducing my smokes/day little by little until then.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything that will prevent giving in. You really have to want to quit.

my greatest problem was always my overly active brain. :p that's makes me smoke and puff the vape. The addiction in my case is just the cherry on the top! It's simply about to do something while i thinking reading vatching a movie or play. So to be entirely honest? 'im not sure i will be capable to put it down completely. But i'm sure i can come down the nicotine. Is suspect you have the same problem than me. You just need something mostly mindless to do but still needs some attention. ;)

And yes i also had the same problem with stopping than you where you bleeded out? You let the temptation to take a hold on you, and lit up a cigarette.

As someone who smoked for 15 years and then quit, I can tell you the only way is to just stop.

It is **** hard, like six months of s*** hard.

And a year of a lessening sense something is wrong every time you; wake up, eat, drink, get bored, go to bed and any other times a cigarette was a ritual.

@ the end of it, you will feel like a new man and after a year, your life insurance provider will class you as a non-smoker (another underrated benefit, mucho savings in premiums)

Plus you will be healthier, start to taste food again, stop wheezing at the slightest exertion, stop smelling like an ashtray, save loads of money, get fewer colds/chest infections (and feel much better when you do), etc., etc., etc.

I can tell you though after 10 years quit, I still crave a cigarette every now and then, sometimes I even taste them, so it is an ongoing battle - one you can win though.

Good luck CMDR.

I celebrated my 10th birthday on March 17th of this year. Not once, I touched a cigarette. I was a new man only after a few hours / days without tobacco

:)

Tobacco consumption kills more than 7 million people every year worldwide, declared today, the World Health Organization. Its cost (in terms of health expenditure and loss of productivity) is estimated at more than $ 1400 billion. Tobacco waste contain more than 7000 toxic chemicals which poison the environment. According to the organisation, tobacco could cause up to one billion deaths in the world during the 21st century.
