I'm selling this ship ASAP

Got the Type 9 this morning & it's definitely the worst ship in the game. I knew it would be slow to maneuver but this is ridiculous. I can't even tell you how many times I got forced out of SC because I couldn't move away from the star in time after jumping, even when throttling down. I'm going back to my Python. I can't handle having a ship that's trying to kill me on every jump.

Type 9 has a steep learning curve, you may give it another try. I got mine for over 2 months and i am really happy with it.

Also I probably should've researched trade routes without outposts first. I could prob still make more money with my Python using outposts. I think I'm sticking with the Python for awhile, until I can get a fairly good Anaconda.

Good luck then ;)

You are either lagging bad or some other thing is wrong, cause while the T9 doesn't like to change direction, I've only twice gotten too close to the sun and both times, I had been involved with coffee or cookies. Turning off flight assist for that first turn away from the sun helps a little.

Also, the T9 kinda sucks to fly but the T7 was worse, overheating on every single jump till you upgraded the power plant to A.

The T9 is slow, but reliable and hauls enough to make 1.5 million for every round trip with 2 or 3 jumps. Sure, the Python rocks to fly in and the T9 is nearly shocking when coming from the Python, but the Python tops out at around 800-900k per round trip, (ignoring current PP bonuses, which change the total numbers but not the comparison.

The T9 will let you trade up to a Conda fast, and the Conda is a dream to trade in.

A Trading Conda, upgraded as far as you can while keeping the jump range at 35 LY costs 170,000,000 and flies perfectly and hauls 452 tons in comfort and ease across 60 LY if that happens to be the best route you could find. That fitting even has power left to add a bunch of shield boosters if you feel the need. But the A4 shield does just fine, as the Conda's own mass is low and cargo does not count against the shield's effectiveness.

So I'd say stick to the T9 for 50 profitable round trips and then get an Anaconda. The slight pain will be worth it.

The T-9 ain't that bad, though it does have limited application. When you can find a good single hop route, the credits flooooow. And I actually like how it handles, feels like a real ship, especially with a tight HOTAS like the TW Warthog!

Sorry to hear you dont like the T9. Recently traded up to an anaconda and really miss my T9.
I agree with the suggestions, if you can put up with the T9 you will get to the anaconda quicker.

But good luck none the less.

hi there,

if you can stick it out for a little, you may find a change in your mood about the T9 :) aside from potential earning capability, even if you don't soften to her throaty chuckle or start to appreciate to the act of gentle (if somewhat sedate) guidance that is T9 manoeuvring, you will certainly gain a better understanding and feel for the mechanics/physics at either end of the ship spectrum, in both small to large and combat to trade terms.

if you think about it, the simple fact it feels so alien, even uncomfortable to you, is actually testament to the great work that has been put into the systems and feel for all these ships.

good luck commander, i hope you find your T9 groove, or at the least a zone of T9 tolerance that will help you get your Anaconda quicker.

The T9 does have character... It just depends if its character suits someone's tastes.

It sure makes you feel the 500 tons you're moving. By comparison, the ASP felt almost unrealistically agile with 100 tons in the hold. And the T7 made me not want to play, but find excuses to mess with Excel or troll the forums... By comparison, the T9 was quite alright, even though I didn't love it, I didn't hate it either except for the first 2 days.

I don't miss it, I'm extremely happy with the Anaconda. It feels heavy but not sluggish. Even with merely D6 thrusters (to avoid jump range reduction) I have no complaints.

the t9 is an excellent ship once you upgrade it and pour millions into upgrades.
but yeah the anaconda is the better trading ship because of the jump distance and defense capabilities. ive had that baby for months now.

The type 9 is the second best cred. making ship in game.
Put up with it and all its faults and before you know it you will have the best trading ship, the anaconda.

You maybe just need to go to T9 driving lessons. ;)

It's quite an easy ship to fly with a small learning curve and can earn you loads of money quickly. :)

Okay maybe I'll hold on a little longer. Will just have to get used to needing to throttle down after the jump. I didn't even need to do that in the Type 7.

T9 is a good ship for trading if you get used to it, much better than the Python. 528 tons is alot of cargo that you can ship.
You need to get the biggest FSD for it though tbh.

im ok with big ships, type 9 is only like 100 more cargo slots that type 7 i believe but you only want to use type 9 if you have a good route that is 1 or 2 jumps away
yes its slow yes its big-not really hard to get into station tho...for me anyways
only use this ship if you absolutely want maximum amount of profit per run
remember you want to haul 500 cargo 2 ways in 30 minutes than 200 cargo 4 times in 30 minutes

If you upgrade the Power, FSD, shields and thrusters to A grade, it isn't cheap, but it transforms the T9. Totally used to mine now, and I also keep an Asp for exploration and smaller deliveries/collections, and a Vulture for pure fun combat.

Definitely not selling my T9...
