I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

I've spent roughly 50 € on paint jobs, mainly because I was in the mood to support frontier from time to time - actually I don't really care what my ship looks like from the outside. It always was spent on a design I liked though.

But Bobbleheads? Seriously - no matter how much I'd want to support Frontier, I'd never put a ridiculous looking wobbling figure, a christmas tree or letters looking like they were copy/pasted straight from Teletubbies on my dashboard.

I'd immediately pay them to have the Cobra MkIVs seat in my FAS, a black/chrome cockpit finish for my Cutter or a mahogany/leather/brass one in my Anaconda.

I also don't understand why they leave the entire voice-pack business to a third party. I'd easily dish out 10 quid for a HAL 9000 sound-alike voice-pack if I don't have to use VA. But Bobbleheads?

What would you pay for?

It's ship customisation. If you don't like Bobbleheads, don't buy em'. Your choice what you throw your money at. There are still new skins, and I'm sure new stuff when avatars come along (although they really need to sort out the store at that point and make it easier to filter stuff).

Character customization would be a very nice addition.
Although I am really looking forward to more internal personalisation of the ships.

Mahogany floors with gold leaf details on the Anaconda bridge? Yes please :)

Very valid points, cockpit customisation a must, but you can sort of hide your bobblehead for most of the time you play, its only really noticeable when launching from a space station.

I find it quite cute. A defo no to the alphabettie spaggetti though. Too teletubbie.

I actually got a female pilot bobblehead, but I actually have an RP reason for that ;)

The kiddie letter heads are the ones I don't understand!

Any kind of customization would be greatly appreciated, though. Ways to repaint the interiors, for example (maybe you want your Gutamaya ship to look less Imperial, for example ;) This will be more important once you can walk around your ships, too. People won't want to all walk around the exact same interiors.

Well I don't. That's pretty much what I said. I kindly ask FD to offer options I can spend money on in their own best interest as a company which would be making money as well as maintaining customer retention.

I understand being >40 years old and having passed elementary school excludes me from FDs main target demographic, but anything proles like me would consider tasteful would be nice once in a while.

Think of us Chavs not wanting elitist Bobbleheads!

We are the 99 percent!

I have to admit I'd very happily pay for new ships, though people would hate that as a "pay to win" scheme.

Customisation of the cockpits would be a nice one, given it's the only thing you can see of your ship, for the most part.

I happen to have some bobblehead style cockpit customizations in MechWarrior Online, including the Hula Girl(the original), the Cocanut Monkey that was a PC Gamer special and the nVidia Dawn fairy that was another special, and I love em. I've got others as well, bought em for grins and giggles or got em free as contest prizes, and I enjoy them as well. You think it looks funny to have a bobblehead in a spaceship? How do you think it looks in the cockpit of a 100 ton, 20m tall BattleMech...it looks AWESOME! Other people can't see our stuff in the cockpit in MWO unless they've died and are spectating you, we can see them in Elite from outside the ship, that's a nice plus...

I've yet to get the bobbleheads however, as there's nothing I'm interested in at the moment. I don't want a pilot or David or, gods forbid, those alphabet things(ugh, really, but people love em). Give me a Hula Girl and we'll be in business however, maybe a plastic Madonna that glows in the dark....

I'd love to have a weapons rack and a wardrobe next to my Gunship's "bridge",
just for that stylish way of going eva;)

Oh and i'd like to customize my ship interior lighting,
along with some special paintjobs.
A gunship without shark teeth has half the bite.

While we are going, weapons look a bit one sided,
aren't there different designs on the market?
They could definitely use some special casings to improve the visuals.

I couldn't resist to get the aphabet bobbles just to state the obvious:
"O U T L A W"

I hate bobble-heads so they are not on my shopping list but I have given serious thought to buying the alphabet things...mainly because, bizarrely, I would like to put up a particular word on my dashboard.

Is that wrong? Yes, it probably is wrong.

Sorry

Jon

Would you be tempted by the Taco Bell dog bobblehead though? Come on, you know you want it!

More customization options would be awesome. Decals, lights, afterburner colors, dash/cockpit enhancements. The ultimate would be ship body customizations of some sort. Well, even better would be being able to move my assymetric cockpit seats to the center. All purely aeshtetic chanfes of course.

Greetings

Hall voice pack yes please, custom bridge yes please, bobble heads meh maybe if we could get things like tv/film/video game bobbleheads then yeah I'd like an ALIEN one please but the alphabet wth were they thinking lol.

What I want is lights for the outside of the ship and no not bleeding christmas tree light but lights like the coloured ones you see in modified cars. These could also be used for the SRV's for that pimped low rider action lol and while we are at it where the hell are the blues and twos for the police ships?

Seems to me ED's target was some of us ol' crochitty folk. [how many of us played Elite in the 80s, alot]
I have noticed a lot of us are "somewhat" older players...

I think the hardest part for any business model is "what do they want" and "is it something we can develop/provide" and not go busted doing it.
We are such a niche market its laughable.

Sound packs, bobblehead on dash [3D addon extras], skins/paint jobs, mugs/shirts, DLC well that's been done for a long time now and is a good standard
model for opening the door to another revenue stream beside the main product. Shoot who hasn't custom skinned a 747 in M$ Flight Sim or modded Doom maps. heh

For me none of the items that are available interests me at all.
I think we all have different "wants" for things we can do or not do for purchased content additions.

I'd buy the API as that is what I want but its not listed in the store yet. :p [simrig~joke]

I want multicrewing.

Can't wait to be able to say to another human being "Eagle, about to pass starboard, nail him if you're able".

or to be told;

"Right, shields just quit... Lets get out of here!".

"Tenfour - All gunners retract weapons, Navigation plot a High-Wake out of here, Engineer - all pips to engines and pop chaff!".

Would be great!

OF course. The classic line "They're coming in too fast!!!"

Haven't been sold on the bobble-heads. I find the animation in the MechWarrior Online cockpit items so much more realistic and less exaggerated. Same with ETS2. That said, I wouldn't mind having this little guy.

Less exaggerated? You do realize that we turn and move at Ludicrous Speed, right? ;)

I agree with the OP.
I too have bought a lot of skins/t-shirts/keyrings/pin badges/bobbleheads to support the development. T-shirts I wear with pride, the rest are a bit meh...
I have 3 bobbleheads, Braben, Male and Female. I only use the Braben one. It serves more as a reminder of the time back in Beta when we had bobbleheads,
especially when they were bugged. I got a few laughs out of them whenever they wobbled unusually and there was also a thread on that topic back then with
quite a few amusing posts. As for the Xmas tree bobble-thingo and the kiddy fridge magnet alphabet, yeah, I am not sold on them. Even if the alphabet was a
different font, I'd probably have some profanity plastered across my dashboard that would prevent me uploading screenshots. So no thank you.

Cockpit interior on the other hand, I am hoping that it will see the light of day, not just for particular ships, but I believe you should be able to buy a variety of
interior packs for any ship. Sort of like buying a new car, when you get the option of buying a cheap poverty pack interior, a midrange or an upmarket one, in
different colours/textures. I would pay up to 10 pounds (in the Frontier Store) for the ability to outfit ship interiors in the game and pay ingame CR for the different
type/styles of interiors.

Voicepacks I know nothing of, so I can't give an opinion on, I haven't tried them, but one day I might, I haven't got sick of the current one yet.

Another thing I would give money for is decals. Manufacturer logos, Faction logos and as someone pointed out in another thread: decal editor for custom decals,
where you can create a simple logo and share with your wing. Hopefully by the time we get to walk around ships, we will have a few extra external features added.
