I'm sorry. I Just HAD to do this....

Lol poor dude.
Funny but sad.

Although, I'm not sure what he was thinking!

He left the pull up and boost way too late! Lol

I'm currently on my way to Sag A in a Python, and I've successfully landed it on a 4G world without issues.
I didn't realise it was a 4G world until I exited glide though, and I was considering leaving again... Lol
But it had a nice view, and good materials!

Had one of those moments last night, first time I had landed on a 2.56g planet and my cobra mk IV bellyflopped on the ground taking my hull down to 18%. I think the only thing that saved me was I realised how fast my ship was going which was far quicker than the engines can actually do and tried to pull up using as much thrust as possible.

My SRV though blew up in the end after it was pulled down a mountain and rolled into destruction. Lesson learned always check the gravity of a unknown planet before landing.

An unfortunate fellow CMDR posted a video of an unfortunate incident they had whilst out in the Void.

I couldn't help myself, it just had to be done. :/

It'll also serve as a PSA for those wishing to land on higher-G planets....

Please forgive me, CMDR!

Really did laugh out loud watching this. definitely worth some rep.
.
I see several serious attempts to explain how you could have avoided your ships demise. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looked entirely deliberate to me staged specifically for the whale/petunia quote video, which was well worth it.

Oh, no! That was a genuine mishap! The CMDR was 25 Kylies out in the void and this was his first time landing on a higher-G world - previous landings had all been on low-G worlds, so he just was not used to or expecting this.

Oh and he replied back to me saying, and I quote : "pahahaha omg I'm so glad you did that!" - so all's well.

He was all for quitting the game for a while after feeling pretty crappy about the crash, but I managed to persuade him to "embrace the suck" and get out there straight away and put that down to experience. The last I heard he was already 5 Kylies out by the time I did the evil thing to his video :)

hahahaha +1 for the laugh and the HHGTTG reference. If I could rep you more I would. Right on commander. :D

The bad news is you have lost your conda, even worse news is you have been fined 100m credits for galactic littering.

I know we all had a bit of a chuckle but I know I have been guilty of 'littering' twice and both times in an Anaconda. The first was I got complacent after landing on a series of low to medium gravity worlds and then tried the same approach on a high G world and didn't react quickly enough to the danger signs. The second was when I got complacent and was racing up a canyon looking out the side window and didn't notice the canyon was coming to a vertical wall. I nearly made it after I noticed and pulled up and boosted but the tail just didn't quite clear the canyon rim .......... ahh well. Live and learn.
