I'm still confused about switch/transfer tracks

So is there transfer tracks to load/unload an extra coaster train or not? im confused I thought switch tracks meant that and alot of other people thought that too.

So its confirmed now we have switch tracks and drop tracks. But switch tracks is kinda the same as transfer tracks? But I have not seen it on any video. Also to have a seperate station to load/unload passengers.

I'm extremely disappointed if transfer tracks are not possible to load an extra coaster train and to store coasters...... that was on my number 1 @Wishlist for pc2

Yeah I think the switch tracks are only a special element that is being used every time the train completes the circuit

But it doesnt do anything else.

Also you cannot build backwards from the station. Something you always did in Planet Coaster 1 to make the final brake run and fake transfer table/maintenance stuff.

I really hope they fix this before the release.

Yes it would be super weird if they add all these new elements but not maintance area to load/unload an extra coaster when it gets busy. I think its kinda the same code as switch tracks

Switch tracks are about ride experience and transfer tracks are management.. I would assume to program for transfer track functionality it's more work. As you need switch tracks plus the management mechanism of taking trains on and off and storing them. The average player is probably less enthusiastic about this than say recreating their favourite coaster that has switch tracks so I would guess switch would be prioritised. I have ridden so many in the past couple of years so it's about time we got them in game! Though it doesn't mean we won't get it one day. Part of the work is done and people have been talking about it for a long time.

But you should at least be able to place a switch track to a straight piece of dead-end track like you could do in Planet Coaster 1 to at least give the illusion there is a maintenance depot for the coasters.

You could do this in Planet Coaster 1, but from the looks of in in Planet Coaster 2 you can't even build backwards from the station, so if this is the case, then it really isn't a big step forward because things are lacking that you could do in the first game.

Yea that would be a nice option for release. There's still time for things to be ironed out hopefully

Switch/transfer tracks near the station (or anywhere in the track) is really needed for a realistic looking coaster. Unless you have only 1 train, you just need it.

It doesn't have to be functional, it can be purely visual like in planet coaster 1. But from the looks of it, this is not possible due to the much more strict track limits.

I do hope not being able to build back from station is just a temporary thing, because this is the workflow I always used.

First you place station, then build lifthill, then go back to station and make final brake run + transfer track for the maintenance area.

I hope we can just put down switch tracks that are dead end so we can at least have the illusion of a realistic coaster.

If we can't do all this, I don't think it's a step forward but rather a step backward compared to the first game.

(Also I hope for static coaster models you can place down as scenery items so you can build parked coaster trains in these fake maintenance areas)
