I've got some cargo to transport back to Aulin and I bootis but I'm stuck in Rakapila, any pointers on how to get back home without dropping cargo?
If the map says you can do it with your current cargo load then quit the game and reload.
Otherwise, it's sell at a loss/dump time.
You need to lose weight. Losing one of your lasers (which weigh 4 tons each!) would help. Burning some fuel may also help.
EDIT: The game allowed me to travel with full cargo capacity from Aulin to Rakipala. But it won't allow me to travel from Rakipala to Aulin with full cargo capacity. I just dropped all my cargo and noticed that the line connecting the two systems via the map reappeared.
I think this is a bug, I had it yesterday and ended up stranded. I don't recall where. There is a disconnect somewhere between the navigation panel and reality, so it loses what you should be able to do. Today I quit the game, restarted the game, and it was okay, let me do the jump the other way.
Please ticket it, I have done, but it will be ignored unless there is more than one recorded incident. It's a pretty fundamental to the game problem if it gets through too.
Glad to see you resolved it by other means.

I think it's certainly buggy - the map not matching what is actually possible - but I suspect the issue of being able to enter a system but not exit it is either:
1. Difference in cargo onboard
2. Not enough fuel
3. Too much fuel
4. Worst of all: not enough fuel, but refilling results in too much!

Yeah it looks like I have no other choice but to do this.
