I'm stuck in Rakapila.

I've got some cargo to transport back to Aulin and I bootis but I'm stuck in Rakapila, any pointers on how to get back home without dropping cargo?

If the map says you can do it with your current cargo load then quit the game and reload.

Otherwise, it's sell at a loss/dump time.

Okay so I obtained a mission from Bowersox Mines to transport cargo to Chango. The "Accept" mission was highlighted and I took it. Back to Rakipala and all of a sudden it's impossible to get back to Aulin when I had full cargo from Aulin to get to Rakipala from the get go. I restarted the game; Nothing. I'm at a lost for words here but I think the game just screwed me bug style.

EDIT: The game allowed me to travel with full cargo capacity from Aulin to Rakipala. But it won't allow me to travel from Rakipala to Aulin with full cargo capacity. I just dropped all my cargo and noticed that the line connecting the two systems via the map reappeared.

I accepted 2 missions at Rakipala, to transport 2 loads of cargo back to I Bootis. But the line disappeared again. If I can't transport cargo anywhere outside of the system then what's the point going back to Rakipala? I'm sure if I had a more efficient ship that would be another story, but for now I just thought I'd bring this to to the attention of whom it may concern. I'm out some 25,000 credits because of this flaw.

You need to lose weight. Losing one of your lasers (which weigh 4 tons each!) would help. Burning some fuel may also help.

I got a better idea. So after dropping my cargo I flew to Aulin and simply bought the items again. All I needed to transport was Biowaste from Raki to Bootis. The mission is still active even after you drop cargo, although some the other items I needed, Aulin did not have. I'm just gonna scour the local systems for these needed items. Oh and I just got jumped by 3 pirate ships, lost almost every system on my ship and my hull was left at 4%. I got out of there sure, but after that, there's no way I'm dropping my weapons.

When there's a will, there will always be a way.

I think this is a bug, I had it yesterday and ended up stranded. I don't recall where. There is a disconnect somewhere between the navigation panel and reality, so it loses what you should be able to do. Today I quit the game, restarted the game, and it was okay, let me do the jump the other way.

Please ticket it, I have done, but it will be ignored unless there is more than one recorded incident. It's a pretty fundamental to the game problem if it gets through too.

Glad to see you resolved it by other means.

Had a similar problem myself.. had to abort mission because I couldn't get to final destination without dumping cargo.

I think it's certainly buggy - the map not matching what is actually possible - but I suspect the issue of being able to enter a system but not exit it is either:

1. Difference in cargo onboard
2. Not enough fuel
3. Too much fuel
4. Worst of all: not enough fuel, but refilling results in too much!

The iterative calculation of fuel is a good point. I think that should just be ignored to make life easier. It's not as if you can purchase fractional amounts to get you to the right balance point either.

Another possibility is your on the very cusp of range. Jump point is to the star, then super cruise to the planet/dock. If the dock was too far on the other side of the star, that could be too far to frameshift. Try SC closer and note the distance.

Yeah it looks like I have no other choice but to do this.

yeah i had that issue with a few missions with the hauler with a full load you get "boxed in" many areas where you cant jump out, not the case thankfully with the type 6 it seems. so just be careful :p

I just had the same problem yesterday. Testing beta 1.04, ran from Aulin to Rakapila and got stuck there. Quitting and reloading the game didn't work, had to sell some hardware to lose some weight and jump back again. It's also funny to notice that the galaxy map showed the jump as possible as long as I was docked, but once outside, no link ... you're pwned :)

Ticket sent to report the issue.
