Newcomer / Intro I'm switching this house to Space Time

Having only recently started playing ED I'm already losing hours, in immersion and clock confusion :S
Is the clock set the same for everyone? As a sort of universal time as GMT on Sol's earth? That helps and hinders us Brits.
Was meant to watch a film with my better half in the evening but was having a 'quick' round of ED first. Got sucked in as usual but finally wound it up at 20:57.
"What are we watching?" I ask.
"It's a bit late to start something..."
"Bit late? It's only nine o'clock."
"No it's ten"
"Really?" Looks at watch, "Oh, well it's only nine o'clock in Space Time!"
Well that left her in fits of histerics and haven't lived that down since :D

But seriously, to save on future confusion I've decided to do away with Daylight Savings and put the house under Space Time :) :p
Never watch anything 'live' anyway so that is not a problem. Work might be, don't know if I can just drop in a hour later and say "chill, I'm on Space Time now" :cool:

Anyone else been caught out by their space clock?
What has been the longest time you've lost track off because you were too immersed in ED?

Don't know if i've lost track of time ( Well probably ).
- Just going for a quick tradehauling. wont take more than 30 min probably... 5 hours later im still not in my final destination, but finds myself "million" years away in oposite direction

It won't work for everyone of course, especially not in a Rift, but If you've got a X52 or similar, just use that as local time. Or buy really cheap clock to stick on your monitor. Or get the better half to let you know when it's movie time :D

That's quite a haul :) Hope I get the chance to get that drawn in someday, it is what ED is all about after all!

Thanks Asp Explorer, there are a few options for bringing real life time into ED but I'm still of the opinion that we should change the real world to match Space Time!! Thus in a few years time when we are out in spaceports IRL they will thank us ED players for enlightening the world to universal time.

They already do in the ISS. Even the military uses UTC no matter where it is in the world.
