So, I've been a backer since last fall (yea, I know some of you have been for much longer), and really do love the game and even brought a few friends into the game as well.
My joys in this game are Trading and Exploring. I'm not into combat much, mainly because I suck at it, and others find ways to get the best ships with the best weapons (as they DO like combat). I outfit my ships for the things I like to do.
It use to be, you could go into a system, do a scan and find 15 - 20 astronomical items to explore, spend all of the time you want doing so, maybe do a fuel scoop while you're there and then move along. Every once in a while, you'd have to deal with an NPC or a "human" ship, and that was fine.
Then FD decided to make sure that humans run into each other more often. Some people could care less for what the game was really (and originally) about, and make killing a CMD at any cost their main priority.
Ok, so, move to Solo mode. I know some don't like that we do this, but, as I said, I'm a lover not a fighter. So, for a very short while, it was like the old days, scan and find a bunch of stuff, explore it, and fill up the tanks and move along.
Another patch, another change....NOW, the NPC's can hop the entire map in a second, strafe you like a P51 Mustang after a jeep convoy, or, even spawn on your six and interdict you before you even know they are there. They "supposedly" don't have shields, but I can lay down a few volleys and not even touch them, but they whack you once or twice and you're toast.
I'm sure FD will say it's random, but for me, it it's minimum, 9 out of 10 systems that this happens to me. I've kind of given up exploring, am now having to fuel scoop at every system as I have to break away from the orbit, as 4 or 5 NPC's spawn within the first 30 seconds of my arrival.
If I want to be aggravated, I'll go back to World of Tanks. Since I got involved with ED, my WOT days have been far and few between, but, I'm going back for a while.
Kind of had it with ED for a while.
So, maybe some of you say, sour grapes.....
Maybe FD will pay attention, maybe not.
All I can do "in protest" is not play.
Seeya....
