I'm trying to work this mess out.

The game is well past its estimated release date.

I believe it will not be completed fully even then (correct me if I'm wrong)

Lastly this "Even if your PC of today can't run with all the features on, your PC of tomorrow might." How about the millions who can't afford to buy a powerful new PC?

When was the estimated release date as you saw it and do you have a source for this release date ?

Correcting someone's believes is impossible regardless of what is said.

Life is a ****** sometimes, could you not save up while waiting for the release ?

well based on the new newsletter, the better the PC the better the experience.

This week we got our first hands on with Elite: Dangerous running in 4K at 60 fps. It really is an amazing experience, the clarity and levels of detail on offer make it even more like 'being there'. We didn't want to stop playing!

I'm of the exact opposite opinion to the original poster; never in my experience have I seen a game of this scope stay anywhere near as close to the original timeline.

Most games of this type are 2, 3 or more years late or just never happen at all.

So I say well done David and Frontier, and if you can include stuff for the next gen of CPUs/GPUs then go for it:D

tbh he isnt a happy guy
Well, it's a game that we've been looking at for a long time, and we are still working on.

It's not that the game has been in development for a long time -- we were in development, and we stopped because it wasn't going the right way.

What? You're either "still working on" it, or you've "stopped" doing so.

Do us a favour mate, and stop taking the p*** out of the fans. You've dangled this carrot in front of us for far too long, it's about time you got some stick for being a fraud.

forward to today .If you really care about ED buy it ,dont start criticising what you dont have any knowledge of ,or at least ask how others feel it is going :)

Really?
What are you on about?
Your negative aura is suffocating me :).

What mess? There is no mess.

If the Earth isn't hit by an asteroid the game will be expanded upon for several years to come. Have you any idea about the scope of this game?
It will however be a very entertaining and feature rich game on it's first release. And once the near future fpa and planet landing expansions are released this game will truly compete with real life.

The game runs quite good on average machines even today.
But indeed some might have too upgrade. That is nothing new in the lands of PC gaming. So complaining about that is utter nonsense.

The OP's been complaining that the game isn't out yet for about 8 years now. His post history demonstrates that he is committed (or should be).

I have a 2 year old computer I spent about 1k on, and i can run it just fine with the Rift (so its rendering TWICE) and still get great framerates with high detail. You can't afford that then buy a PS4

The people who don't have a PC that can run Elite Dangerous will not be able to play Elite Dangerous

That being the case, delays in release are a good thing. Gives you more time to save up for a decent PC.
