I'm talking about plots relating to the news, full radio comms voice acting, cinematic battles, and heart-wrenching moments.

I've worked on quite a few "theatre box office"-like films for college, they are my favorite media projects.

Just waiting for a camera or spectator feature in Elite to work with.

Me too. A film recorder and viewer would be great. You'd have all the data from your in-game play available (when recording during play), and then in the film viewer you have full freedom to stage shots (camera position, camera target, camera movement, etc.) Or if you want, you can just re-watch a fight to see what you did right or wrong and why the other guy won. You'd have both a cinematic movie maker and a learning/teaching tool.

I like the sound of that, but I would say it would only work for Solo play. A much better option I believe, one that would work in all modes is if ships were equipped with full Flight Data Recorders. that are able to be triggered. So say you drop into a Nav Beacon, you can turn the recorder on, it just starts dumping the numbers to your HDD, as you go in for the kill on "WANTED" ships. Then in the main menu, outside the game you can access the flight data recorder to then view the events you just recorded, or any that you recorded. Shift camera view to any ship, any position. Many games have this ability, so I don't see how it would that hard to implement in Elite.

Why do you think it would only work in Solo play? Solo is the same as Open with the exception of having other players in your instance.

I think literally thousands of players are waiting for this feature - One of my main beefs with FD decisions - They produce a revenue item (Paint and Stickers) a great idea to generate revenue! But then the EPIC fail - no way to see it. A HUGE gigantic mistake! - Should be TOP of the to do list, happy players, happy bank manager! - Just crazy!
