[Image Intensive] Imperial Cutter and Federal Corvette portraits...

Might want to slip in a <image intensive> tag in the topic title. I lost about 100MB of mobile data before I realized what the thread was about... The mobile version of the forum does not account for the spoiler tags.

I know you like the dark, but I like the brighter shots more, for seeing more details. But good shots nonetheless. Are these Fins on top Heat radiators (or the heat vents you mention) on the Cutter?

Greetings from the Imperial darkness...

Not really sure if the are called vents or radiators. But they work in the same way as the heat flaps on the anaconda that open up whenever you overheat.

May you find death and glory in the void...

Thanks OP, didn't notice quite a few details on those two yet.

I do have to say, the stern and the whole drive assembly of the Cutter look marvelous and the extending heat bleeders on its back are really cool as well.
Also nice to see that its landing gear doesn't look completely silly like the Clipper's. Not enitrely happy with it though, as for its size it really should have more of them (somehow unrealistically placed and/or dimensioned gear has become my new pet peeve, thanks FD...)

In the end, I think the Cutter is actually my favourite Empire ship yet and I am tempted to give it a serious name (unlike the Clipper) that does not include the word "Hipster" once we can name our ships. :p
Overall, it's just unfortunate that it has those puffy cheeks...

The Vette looks quite good as well.
I do love the way those two huge HPs extend behind the bridge. Those two "boxes" they are monted on do look more than just a little silly though.
The rest of the ship (especially the "chasm" down its middle and the bow tip) could do with a few more jagged edges, like on the Fed capital ships, but overall I like the design.
It does look functional and rugged, a quality I really like in the ship designs by Faulcon and CoreDyn.

Any chance you could update the OP with a shot that does include the extended gear of the Vette?

Cheers.

Your wish is my command. Federal Corvette heat vent aren't as glamorous as the Cutter's. They are a set of utilitarian slots that slide open as heat rises. there are several arrays of heat slots all over the ship.

Fantastic, thanks a bunch CMDR! (would rep again, if I could)

I actually like how the heat vents are done on the Vette. They are not as flashy as on the Cutter, but they fit the style of the ship very well.
Good landing gear as well, looks sturdy and pretty well placed.

I guess that settles which of the two I'm going to get first :D

Edit: The cargo hatch seems to be in front of the center of the ship as well, so no weird switching of pitch when canisters pass the center of the ship like on the Python. Me likey!
