This is my first time running a project like this- Its amazing! We had been at it for three weeks now, with new insights coming fast and furious - touching several scientific disciplines – the work has been quite fulfilling. Up until a day ago things had been going very well and the excavation was also starting to uncover the extent with which the Thargoid structure extended into the planets surface as well as the fascinating rootlike structues it was composed of. Admittedly hiring workers from the Far God University seemed like a joke at first – but after being approched by some of their professors, and working with the students – I have gained an apreciation for their ardour, and they also proved to be quite adept at working with thargoid materials. The extra funding provided for the project by FGU was also a welcome boon.
It had taken forever to get the permit from AEGIS to conduct the excavation. Thankfully we were given permission and even an “escort” to learn from us and keep an eye out for our protection. I admit, its felt nice to have them around – even if its just a squad of guys who like to buzz around in their Dropship when they arent playing cards in their Hab.
We have situated our excavation dome and habitats close to the central structure, but off to the east – far enough away so as to not disturb the workings of the scavangers.

Johnson our xenobiologist has been working a lot with the Thargoid sensors/probes/links and how they interact with the central device. He keeps calling them lingams. I had to remind him that he is a biologist and he is here to study xeno biology not magical stones from ancient earth. Johnson at least conceded that they are not the same however he still holds they function in similar ways – the linga act as proof of “its” existence – and when mated with the “yoni” - we are presented with a visual proof as well... I asked him what “it” was and he got a little cagey. I think Johnson has been spending too much time with the FGU students. On the plus side – he has been making breakthroughs in the biological properties/interactions of meta-materials.
We have noticed increased activity from the scavengers. I pointed this out to our contact at AEGIS and the corporal incharge of our squad of “protectors”. They have told me not to worry.

Hello! Is anyone out there? Im not hearing from anyone!
I went out for my early morning walk…. Saw Sergeant Atkins and his squad hurrying towards their Dropship. I just assumed they were off for some training. It wasnt till later that I heard the broadcast about the Thargoid Attacks. Then I heard the explosions. I am on the far side of the structure away from our Habs… No one is responding on comms…

Everyone is missing from the Habs… they are awfully cold too. I think I got one of them working proper and warming up. I went looking for them – Cant believe what I saw…. It was Johnson with his Far God students… They were STANDING in the Yonis ! Taking the place of the Thargoid Artifacts… I didnt know that was possible. And Johnson was in the center…. Then …. I cant even describe what I saw… but he was gone. I ran back here to the Habs. I hope someone gets here soon… I dont dare make another transmission. They might hear it. I found one of Johnsons notebooks…. The man has lost it…. Wherever he is.

We got called away - It couldnt be helped. Ordered to provide assistance to The Oracle. It was touch and go even getting out of orbit - the Thargoids were waiting for us! I only hope I made the right decision, not liking the fact I left a man behind.... But Gates volunteered, and it felt right to have one of us stay to help out. - 'Just get them to hunker down for a while, we will get back and get you all out. ' I told him ... keep a low profile ... ya not sure how they are going to do that in the middle of a Thargoid structure... First thing first ... The Oracle...
