Engineers Imagine if you could buy/sell materials at Engineer bases...

Wouldn't it be interesting to see the most in demand materials BUY/SELL prices shooting up accordingly. And the ones not so much in demand, their BUY/SELL prices falling.

An actual dynamic supply and demand market in the game :)

Go out and spend an hour collecting Pollonium and sell it for a nice tidy sum at Farseer which is out of it.

Not proposing it as such, but it would be an interesting concept...

That is one of those things that sounds good on paper but falls flat when implemented into gameplay. I have never seen a game pull it off. It always ends up being the less gainfully employed controlling markets and they are the only people who enjoy that really.

You might spend one hour looking for polonium but they could spend many hours to your one spent.

Sort of like "Powerplay" then? :)

Possibly... But remember no one would control the markets in truth as you wouldn't have to buy anything, as you could simply resort to farming it yourself should you wish :)

But I suspect yes, it would be as you suggest, something that sounds better than the actual outcome.

Like any other MMO: be quick, buy as much as you can while before the prices for the forever-in-demand stuff skyrockets. 1 Month later, new player has to pay 10x as much as you.

These dynamics generally only favour those who can cash in on singular occasions, and punish everyone else.

Materials market is a strongly requested feature.

In any case, am still thinking that it should have a station like shinrarta, but with materials/upgraded equipment, in reward for example to complete every grade 5 to all known engineer.

Fair point, BUT, remember no one would be forced to pay anything, as people could always simply decide to farm what they want...

As regards 10x price rises, that all depends on the the coding behind the prices/demand. eg: A ton of polonium could be set at BUY/SEL prices around 50,000 while in high supply and 250,000 while in low/zero supply. And that's the range it works/stays within...
