yep hold the fans as else it will build a currence besides from the possibility to hack into the card.

Dont vacuum clean your computer parts, please. Use compressed air instead (preferably while outside)

turns out I somehow had two instances of Elite Dangerous clients running at once (the other was still at main menu.. no wonder menu music was still playing)

How it happened I dont know, but BOY it worked my video card a bit past its limits

Although I much prefer the comical explanations, I doubt the EULA covers "multiple mislaunch meltdown" as an eventuality they would be liable for.

I doubt that you were running two instances of ED. Most probably this were ED Launcher and Elite Dangerous. They look very similar on the task bar. Your GPUs time is simply over. Time to upgrade.
