IMO, all new DLC should be animal packs

Well, according to the files, there are 3 major DLC's that are already coded in

idk if they'll be the last but I think more animals would be nice

Agreed, would be fine with animal packs only. If there are only 3 packs left (I hope not), the more animals we get, the better. The few core zoo items I would need could be in free updates. Mostly more faux rocks, more faux (without leafs) climable trees, more netting etc.

Again, this can change. These Packs are in the files since about half a year and not longer. There is for sure 1 year planning and then frontier has a look if the game is still profitable. It could be just 3 more or it could be more.

I think there'll be more PZ packs. I don't think JWE2 is the mega hit they were hoping it would be, Planet Coaster, as we all know, is dormant as an IP right now. Their F1 management game won't have as broad appeal. That leaves Elite Dangerous as their other source of income and that's just had its support on consoles cease and a rocky relationship with its userbase on PC potentially impacting sales (maybe, I dunno...I'm guessing here).

Yes. Yes. Yes. Regardless of whether or not support ends after 3 more packs (I’m going to proceed under the assumption that this will happen to keep my expectations in check, though it’s hardly guaranteed) I would love nothing more than to see an increased rate of animal packs. Ideally 100% animal packs from here on, but even 2 animal packs separated by a scenery pack would be a better pattern than the current one for my interests.

My bottom line has always been that I’m here for the animals. I would’ve never given this game a second glance if it was just a general building sim. There’s already way more building pieces than I’ll ever know what to do with. So the outcome that maximizes animals is the outcome that maximizes my enjoyment and happiness.

Since we got capybara, bathing and buyos from datamine, probably asia scenery pack is next with torii gates.
The buoys were for Europe, weren't they?

As to the thread topic it's getting hard to say what scenery packs would really be necessary--what we have now is enough to build almost anything. At most I can think of a barnyard theme for a domestics pack and a zoo props/backstage theme for a ??? pack.

On the one hand, yeah, I'd love more animals! On the other hand, I like getting new building pieces and there's still a ton of scope for stuff yet to be added in that respect.

Overall I think I'm mostly just hoping that we get more DLC!

Scenery is always welcome - the current system that PZ devs have now, with the on and off scenery packs works very well. We get a lot of quality building pieces in between the lulls of animal packs, and it pays off extremely well. Scenery items will always be needed, as the community can attest to, and they always invigorate the game with creativity and innovation, using pieces for the better. Ever since we got the decals I've been building ten times more realistic, and I can only imagine what even more of those pieces could do.

By now I don't know if I could hope that there will be packs with many animals, this is not their policy, unfortunately there have been packs with a maximum of 8 animals, of which 2-3 completely new models and other remodeling of animals already present.
Perhaps the only pack potentially with many animals will be the bird pack, if there is one, but even on that I wouldn't be so sure.
If it were true that only 3 Planet Zoo DLCs remain, it would be a great regret because it is incomplete game, as there would still be many animals (especially monkeys of various kinds that are realistically very popular in zoos), a few exhibit animals, unimproved exhibit mechanics, playgrounds for children visiting the zoo nonexistent, many scenic and structural elements nonexistent, etc...

I'm always down for more animal packs!

But I'm also okay with the back and forth pattern, where we get quality animal packs in between the lulls of scenery packs. ;)

But my understanding of that arrangement is that it is meant to appease different parts of the community, in order to keep the support lasting longer.

So if they really were approaching the end of the life cycle, I'd prefer all animal packs. But if the mix keeps us all going longer, then I'm willing to make that deal.

I could very well be wrong but I’m going to say frontier will have to at least think about continuing support for this game. Dlc is very profitable and the game still generates a lot of hype. If anything I’d say the game actually picked up momentum since launch. This type of game is the type you can sit on and turn a profit for yrs with their continued dlc format. And ideas and animal choices are endless.

There are three themes I'd be ok with getting building pieces in:
  • Islands
  • Aviaries
  • Nocturnal
That's it. Not Asia, not MENA, not Central America.
And Islands pack with traditional scenery would work incredibly well:
  • Tasmanian devil as the flagship
  • Some combo of fossa, sifaka, takahe, kiwi, little blue penguins, flightless cormorants
That would be a great pack.

I also do want to continue to get more foliage, especially when it comes to aquatic foliage we need a lot more, and this update won't be giving us any unfortunately.

I feel this was a poorly thought out post.

I made this with the idea that we were rly only getting 3 DLC's and then the game would be abandoned (maybe for PZ 2)

While I think there are animals we need, scenery is a rly good addition to the game

Since we only have 3 DLC's left, I feel that they should all be animal packs. IMO, we already have all the themed building pieces we could need so bolstering the roster is a worthwhile goal
We can NEVER have enough foliage, and we desperately need more animal signage. However, I'm not much of a builder so I'm ok with not getting more building-type pieces.
About the only themed building set I would like to see is a North American theme, such as Wild West or Native American.

Also, as others have said, we have 3 planned DLCs left. That absolutely can change...especially if the DLCs this year do well.

Remember 14% revenue growth? Unfortunately for all of you, Planet Zoo will see a decline in revenues H2 FY2022 compared to H2 FY2022.
Im not sure how EU + Wetlands pack can beat Aquatic (mostly) + SEA pack in money making.
