Imp Courier confirmed for 1.3

Now, this has put the brakes on my exploration! I was just about to set off out for a month long trip, but now we have this coming soon(tm) I daren't leave home in case it drops when I'm half way out!

The "big" announcement is due next week. Beta maybe starting one week after that and finishing in three weeks from now? (at the most optimistic timeframe). Reckon you've got at least three weeks and more likely longer than that. I'll be wanting to get a Courier as well but won't be putting any exploration trips on hold (I might turn round when the timeframe is announced though).

There's room for a multi-role where one of the roles is exploration and combat without the cargo space to make a trader. Maybe it sacrifices shield levels a bit like the Cobra and Clipper, but has less space in exchange for a big FSD for the hull mass (while those have good space for their size).

Where are the imperial seats?! :) You can see them in the Clipper if you look through the cockpit glass in debug cam mode but in cockpit they're the default seats. I was really hoping with the introduction of the courier we'd get the new seats in both ships.

imho we have more than enough fighters.
We also have more than enough multi-role ships and a ton of traders.....

I'm hoping it's a fighter as well because I love the Gutayama stylings and I desperately want something that will make me never want to touch a Vulture again - which my FDL and Clipper haven't. The fun I have gotten out of that little ship has been exponential.

I was thinking more of a grown up adder, more like Cobra sized. We're lacking a fast exploration centric ship in the cobra size range

If it is, I'd be very surprised, mainly because of the jet-fighter looking cockpit they showed from previous newsletters, but I guess we'll see.

Ugh, I hate the bridge of my Clipper, it is a Tron/Donald Trump/oligarch nightmare, looks tacky and very "unreal", the style is even more offputting than the layout. The Vulture is loads nicer to fly, and the cockpit actually looks like a real place.. just the range and cargo capacity aren't.. great.

The Courier was one of my favourite ships in Frontier- I hope it will be just as fun in ED. Hopefully the centred, more stripped-down cockpit will be less blingy and approximate than the Clipper. Expectations are running far too high here :)

We'll never have enough types of ships - however with the level of 3D modelling detail and movable / deformable components we're bound to be limited by FD dev 3D modelling and testing time.

Why never enough? Look outside on the road, look at the railways, look at the seas - how many different types and models and configurations of vehicles are there? :)

Hehe funnily enough the fact that i felt like I was sitting in End of Line was one of the reasons I liked it so much XD

I am absolutely keeping my money for a Courier though, I want to try it out regardless of what it is, those images of the cockpit interior are lush!

Just as long as they don't decide that you need to be an Earl to fly it, and "powerplay" suddenly makes ranking up take months :D

I agree and I'd hope not simply because it's a single-man ship, but then who knows what their reasoning is. I did make Earl, but that was only because I rushed to make Count so I could get involved in the Facece CG and while I was down there I just decided to finish it off so to speak. A ship like this shouldn't be locked out from a good portion of the playerbase, it's not exactly a huge warship or anything.

Interesting, I'm your polar opposite! I got out of my A-spec Vulture ASAP for the Clipper. I would only go back if I was forced too. The Clipper is so much more refined!
