Ships Imperial Clipper Engineering

Hey all, this weekend I plan on engineering my Imperial Clipper for bounty hunting, assassination missions, and light PvP.

Build is: https://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial...40404024k5n322b2929016e.AwRhrSq1j4g=.Aw18aQ==

The engineering mods I am thinking about are as follows:

Armor: reinforced
Hull Reinforcement: reinforced
Shields: Thermal resist
Boosters: 3x resistance enhanced
Engines: Dirty Drives
Power Distro: charge enhanced
Power Plant: will overcharge if I need to
Weapons: 3x Overcharged Incendiary, 1x Overcharged Corrosive

Note: the cargo rack is only on there since I am doing assassination missions to up my combat rank, and sometimes the missions give you commodities.

My main question is: does this build look functional? Would it be better to swap out two Multis for beam lasers?

For actual effective shielding have a look at Frenotx's shield tool https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/286097-Shield-Booster-Mod-Calculator?highlight=frenotx

Using the default settings (input your own from outfitting for accurate results) the build you've proposed using L5 mods would have 1120 MJ thermal, 1010 MJ kinetic and recharge time from 50% to 100% of just over 4 minutes, I have a Python fitted with 6C bi-weaves that have similar shielding values and they're pretty tough to crack although the Clipper does have a larger shield bubble.

Set the fuel scoop and cargo hatch to lower priorities and an L1 OC plant (+10% typically) should be fine (+1.5 MW max on L5 DDT + 0.15 MW max on the FSD) multi-roll it and you can get +10% power and little or no increase in thermal output.

Weapons I'd suggest L4 or L5 OC m-cannon as the jitter on the lower levels can be excessive, as to energy weapons you'll need to watch power and PD drain as DDT thrusters need a low of energy for boosting. Beams can drain a weapon cap real quick but with an OC'ed plant you should have enough power although I've heard L4 OC pulse are very effective and a fair bit more energy efficient.

Although the Clipper's fairly agile for a large ship the weapon convergence isn't great so perhaps using class 2 energy weapon turrets might be worth considering, I'd suggest trying out a number of loadouts with stock weapons before you start modding them.

If you decide to go with beams or any other lasers for that matter you should have it set up so that both lasers are on one side and both projectile on the other that way weapon convergence isnt a problem. Also seeing as you will have one large and one med the draw on the distributor isn't as bad.
