Imperial Clipper or Anaconda for trading?

Here is my question, I have an Anaconda and I was thinking of upgrading to the Imperial Clipper which holds more Cargo. My question though: Is it worth it when comparing it to the Anaconda in term's of the Anaconda's ability to Jump a great distance while have good shielding and speed?
Cause I don't want to spend countless hour's on ranking up when I can just continue trading on my Anaconda.

P.S. I hate the ranking system and it's "nerf" it got a long time ago. Basically forcing you to grind ranks for ungodly amount of time for a single ship(Imperial Clipper). Wish they would release another Trade ship that is available with out a rank requirement

EDIT: I mean Cutter

I'm assuming you mean Imp Cutter...

If you have the ability to Engineer the Cutter then you can have the same jump range as a Conda (un-engineered) but carry 700+ tonnes of cargo.

I love mine and wouldn't go back to a Conda for any price. But then I already had the rank when the Cutter was released.

Would I gain the rank specifically for one ship? Probably but each to their own.

Clipper vs Anaconda is a no choice.
Anaconda win hands down.

But Cutter vs Anaconda, that's another story.
Not Engineered, Anaconda got more distance but can take less.
But once Engineered, Cutter can go at the same distance and even more, and take Much, much more.

I upgraded from an Anaconda to a Cutter (I presume you mean the Cutter not the Clipper) and it is a much better trader with a bit of engineering. I carry 720t of cargo and have a laden jump range of 21LY (unladen 30.5LY). Get the right route and you can easily pull in 15M cr/h.

You mistake cutter and clipper? As clipper has less cargo capacity than Anaconda. Cutter is the one with more cargo space. For trading the cutter is absolutely the king, jump range doesn't matter that much when cutter can almost carry twice as much cargo than Anaconda. Also cutter is much better ship to use if you trade in open as cutter is faster and has better shields. Jump range doesn't matter that much while doing the actual trading, only when traveling around the bubble. But the cutter isn't must get. Its better than Anaconda in many ways but not game changer.

You mean Cutter. I asked the same question some time ago, and decided to grind rank starting at almost nothing, it was worth it. You'll go from 420+ cargo to 720+, that is a big difference in capacity, and a lightweight Cutter can go 30+ LYs unladen with a decent grade 5 FSD mod

Cutter jumps less than the Anaconda, but it carries a crapload more stuff (almost a 50% increase), so unless your trade route is very, very long, the Cutter wins at trading hands down.

How many Hours did you guys spend ranking up? Cause the way I calculated it, I would have to spend at least 150 hours just to get to the proper rank...

Cutter may jump less, but it sure carries more cargo. And it'll reach the station faster than the anaconda. But don't turn until your speed is at middle blue, as you'll be unable to move towards the target while it's over top speed, because of the worst handling in the game.

Shame you missed the Festive countdown as the Chrome Cutter skin is really nice, I didn't think I'd like it but took the plunge and glad I did.

My Cutter Sleipnir full ing daily config 700 tons. 28 ly full, all guns operatives and 500 m/s boost. Only trader more tons. Obiusly. Better that an Anny. Dont ask me for the grind to Imperial Dux. The horrour....The horrour... nightmares all nights. And the way to the Corvette..Worst. For me get the Cutter is a good idea. The best trader. Nice ship yo do anything, not good for heavy combat for me. The Corvette too much effort for a pure combat ship. Very nice and powerfull but if you wont do pvp mainly i think you dont need It.

The one thing I'll add to the jump range (unengineered) comments, now that I've thought about it a little more: The only time I missed the jump range of the Conda is at the latter stages of a Trade Community goal. The extra jumps mounted up at that point. for normal A-B-A (or A-B-C-D-E-A in my normal cases) it had very little effect.
