Imperial Clippers deserve much better

That’s it. I’m sick of all this “VIP Transport” biowaste that’s going on in the galaxy right now. Imperial Clippers deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I’m talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine Imperial Clipper in Facece for 147,400 Imperial Crowncoins (that’s about Cr 200,000,000 in Bank of Zaonce money) and have been practising with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid palladium with my Clipper.

Imperial Slaves spend years working on a single Clipper and tune it up to a million times to produce the finest ships known to mankind.
Imperial Clippers are thrice as fast as Federal ships with thrice the firepower for that matter too. Anything a Dropship can dogfight, an Imperial Clipper can dogfight better. I’m pretty sure an Imperial Clipper could easily bisect an Anaconda in full military grade plating with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why the Federation never bothered conquering Achenar? That’s right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Barons and their Clippers of destruction. Even in the battle of Cemiess, Federal pilots targeted the men with the Clippers first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Imperial Clippers are simply the best ship that the galaxy has ever seen, and thus, require better stats. Here is the stat block I propose for Imperial Clippers:

Hardpoints: +1 Large extra central weapon hardpoint.
Movement: Pitch rate ->30, Roll Rate ->100, Acceleration (max, retro) ->32, 19; Class 6 Hyperdrive
Defence: Shields ->390
Can retract nacelles to land on Medium pads
Genuine Gutamaya seats (not those uncleaned FDL seats), lined with real Zelano Lomb-skin Leather

A Clipper is a fast trade vessel historically and this appears to be the same. It needs no extra boosts. You want an imperial warship, which currently doesn't exist :)

Heard it wasn't worth the effort .. such a sad waste of a planet .. On top of that Faulcon de Lacey make the best ships. Can't beat a cobra !

(Not an Imperial fan; think the Clipper is ugly; so good luck with the campaign for some love - better than asking for nerfs :))

I fully concur Sir. Whats more the hardpoints need moving, as sometimes my line of sight is blocked when dealing with Federal pond life, and all docking should stop when a Clipper is near the Toast Rack as i had to take avoiding action the other day and my slave spilled my drink, either that or we need gimballed slaves.

A bit modest requirements. I'd like Clipper to be

1. as maneouvrable as Eagle
2. have all hardpoins to be huge
3. have twice more shields than Python
4. take triple times more cargo
5. have a secret button 'Kill'em all'

To me, Clipper is very imbalanced ship comparing to Dropship
- better shields, because of A7 generator and hull
- faster
- more maneouvrable
- significantly bigger cargo
- much cheaper
- easily to buy (Squire)

You don't have gimballed slaves? We have those in the federation. They might be officially illegal, but as a man of standing they do cater to my needs and turn a blind eye to such an obvious requirement.

ahh, you must be one of the new breed. you seem to be mistaking our emperors glorious battles as having been fought with the clipper. they might have been in the background but the glory of the emperor was carried into battle by the flagship of the imperial navy, the Imperial Courier. now THAT is a ship worthy of high praise!

Hear hear! Or, failing all that, some bigger vertical thrusters! As it is I have to throw 10 slaves, minimum, below my clipper when I dock, as to avoid scratching my under belly.

It's still cheaper than those advanced piloting classes I heard about, but not by much.

The Courier is the ship that I would like to see return, of course if they would give us a new updated version with the basic same ship design but renamed to the 'Liberator' I would be even more happy.

It's a good thing FD never promised the Courier in the Kickstarter campaign. Imagine how many refund requests they would have had if they failed to produce it at launch.

Cup holders! Just more cup holders! I keep spilling my Achenarian Cognac when I manoeuvre! Please FD, fix this glaring oversight! The slaves all have back problems from mopping up spillages!

main reason i've ground some imp rep out, the courier is on it's way, we just don't know when! also really hoping they completely changed direction from the concept art they released, as it didn't look anything like the courier.

This. At least the Achenarian Cognac cleans up well. Imagine if you had spilt Evil Juice or something similar to that.

I heard one Commander had to scrap his entire ship and buy a new one when he couldn't get the smell out.
