Imperial Courier Engine Audio?

Okay am I going crazy or has it been changed? I haven't flown my iCourier for several months, and after getting back in it last night it sounds...... wrong. Hitting boost and holding full roll, yaw and pitch, it makes this HORRENDOUS farting/grinding noise that sounds like my sound card crashing. XD

I swear this ship used to sound a lot more "turbo'd sports car" like and less "bizarre matrix telephone cable teleportation scene".

Hell, try just yawing while stationary. It doesn't so much make a nice engine sound as it makes "putt putt putt putt". O_O

It's changed, but most noticeably, it's much louder than it was.

This is probably related to how small the ship is and how close it is to the cockpit, but the audio simulation should scale such cues to account for this, so that we aren't deafened by our own ships.

No it definitely doesn't sound right. Or if this is how it's meant to be, it's horrible. :X Have you tried it? Just sit stationary somewhere and yaw.

Why did it even need changing anyway? The old sounds were great!

Yes, I've heard it, yes it's different in ways beyond amplitude. The sounds are completely arbitrary and my issue is with the amplitude more than anything. It could fart, giggle, and quote scripture, for all I care...as long as it didn't require a different volume level than the other ships.
