Imperial Courier reaching 810 m/s Boost Speed - what are your speed numbers?

I would love to hear your top speeds.

I have more or less finished kitting out my Racing Courier:

2A Power Plant, Overcharged (5) - is more than adequate, giving a bit more than a stock 3A Power Plant.
3A Enhanced Performance Thrusters, with Dirty Drives (5)
3A Frameshift Drive, Increased Range (5) - because I want to get around as quickly as I can
3D Power Distributor, Engine Focused (3) - seems to fill up the engines capacitor in fairly good speed; I wouldn't go lower though.

The other modules D-rated.
I started with a 3A shield generator, but reduced that to a 2D one, because if I hit anything at 700m/s, those shields are not going to help much.
That move gave me another 40m/s Boost Speed, increasing it to 810. I am happy with that. :D

I'm really jealous! Congrats! I dream of the day I get to post about a ship I'm truly proud of.

On a similar note, I was hoping I could build a courier that could boost to 700 using clean drives. Is this even possible or is it dirty drives all the way down?

For a pure racer, an iEagle is a better bet than a Courier.

If you want to mount some weapons, go with the Courier. Otherwise the iEagle has the edge in speed.

Mine's 818m/s I finished it last night (I seriously wanted to get it some G5 D-Drives... Modular Terminals can... yeah... I unlocked Palin just for this ship LOL)

2d Power Plant... w' G1 Overcharge, need a tiny bit more oomph.
2d Shields... Which I might just bin... If you hit anything it's 50/50 you'll pop anyway :D
3a Performance Enhanced Thrusters... G5 Dirty Drives, with a niiiice roll, 3% off max possible I think
3d Power Distributor w' Engine Enhanced G3 mod. I might roll up a 2a Engine enhanced, see how it compares.

Have to say highly recommended fun for all ;). Buzzing a station is such good fun! I imagine a like trying to park a Formula 1 car in Sainsbury's when docking though.

Now I just need a rig that can render the planet surfaces quicker to enjoy it a bit more!

784 with a 29% grade 5 dirty.

Here is a video.

Yep. Here's a video of somebody who got an iEagle up to 860 m/s (mach 2.5!) which I think may be a record.

Btw why don't we get a sonic boom when boosting out of stations? There's air in there right?

The best I've managed is a paltry 516 in my FDL.

Congrats, you have reach the speed of a XX century portable MANPAD in the year 3300! LMAO!!

9K38 Igla /SA-18: Flight speed, average / peak: 600 m/s (1,300 mph) / 800 m/s (1,800 mph)

Hate the lack of logic in ED!

My iCourier does 824 m/s.
The imperial Eagle is way heavier. It is potentially faster, but you have to strip it to a skeleton to be fast ...

I am not a very good video capture guru, and have failed to find a decent post processing tool to alter, cut and enhance video. If anybody has something they feel they can recommend to a noob, feel free to enlighten me!
Despite my handicaps, I have tried to capture 6 minutes of canyon racing, testing my Courier. I am just using the Nvidia capture.
I am a bit clumsy in the canyon, so bear with me when I careen around having no idea where to turn; this is a new piloting style for me. I don't think I will ever attempt doing this FA off...:

Yes, the canyon is a bit wide; I am not suicidal! ;)
