Engineers Imperial cutter distributor needs love

Finally built up an imperial cutter and loaded it with 4 pulse turrets - 2 class 3 and 2 class 2.

the A7 distributor can barely keep up with all 4 firing. Tried same loadout on my python and it handles it no problem

i know when 2.1 hit distributors were buffed across the board and then got nerfed again shortly after. The cutters distributor however needs help. Specifically im talking about recharge rate here. I know the cutter isnt a dedicated combat vessel but it should have better recharge.

This makes no-sense. Both ships have the same A7 distributor. I think any differences here are due to your imagination or testing methodology.
You may also want to do a Grade 4 Efficient Weapon upgrade for your class 3 turrets. That will also help with the distributor draw.

As far as the distributor buff / nerf is concerned, it never had any impact on the weapon capacitor. It was only for the SYS and ENG capacitors.

This. Currently not able to grab the specs, but AFAIK a C7 PD can EASILY handle two c2 and two c3 pulse turrets, they have pretty much no PD drain whatsoever. Identical PDs work the same on different ships, there is no ship modifier or anything.

Going to an engineer should not be how you get the base ship to function.
It's was supposed to be a warship and it doesn't even have the distributor to fire anything; does that not sound like        design? It needs a C8 like the other big ships.

The solution is simple: Go and see the engineers. That's what they're there for!
Yep! waste your time on bad rolls in the hope you can make your ship actually function like it was originally supposed to![haha]
NO! That is not what they're there for. The cutter's weapon and power load out was designed by a moron, the fix is certainly not gambling.

The design is to fit the Cutter with high DPS high draw weapons like beam lasers, then use its speed to boom and zoom, unleashing large amount of firepower for short bursts as you pass your target, then recharging on the way back around.

If you get back around. Remember, it's got the turnability less then that of the T9. Also, large ships are not supposed to be boom and zoomers to begin with. I think their fetish of having all ships, no matter the size, be flown and have the hardpoints placed like small fighters is a huge problem.

Cutter did just fine pre-engineering!!! There's a whole thread of pilots that actually know how to fly and fit the ship. You don't like it, fly something else.

Oh, and my cutter rolled just fine on engineers... Sooo, I'm loving the additional awesomeness that has been added to the existing awesomeness of this ship.

Last, my pre engineering distributor could handle 2 x large G burst lasers 2x medium burst lasers turrets, 2 x m gimb cannon and a c4 PA just fine.

for all of 1.5 seconds.

You've been reading too much rubbish on the internet. Any level 5 modification will improve your ship substantially from what it is now. In fact every modification at every level will improve it from what it is now.

Well if you're gonna ask for better PD then I'm gonna ask for better FSD on Corvette :D :D :D :D :D

An A7 distributor is not large relative to the total weapons fit you can put on a Cutter but it should not have significantly limited the weapons you were trying to fire which was only pulse lasers on 2 x class 2 and 2 x class 3 hardpoints. I have routinely used medium-sized combat ships with heavier firepower than what you were firing and they handled it fine with an A6 distributor so something isn't making sense. As you had mentioned your Python can handle that weapons load using the exact same distributor so you must have been using different pip settings on the Cutter when you were firing.

Even the math does not make sense with the OP's claim.
An A7 power distributor has a capacity of 61 MW and a recharge rate of 6.1 MW / sec
the power draw of a class 2 pulse turret is 0.33 mw / shot * 3.037 shots / sec = 1 MW / sec
the power draw of a class 3 pulse turret is 0.56 mw / shot * 2.7 shots / sec = 1.5 MW / sec

So the OP's setup should be consuming 1 + 1 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 5 MW / sec
He should have no problem maintaining a full weapons capacitor with 4 pips to weapons.
