Imperial Cutter graphical bugs

So i finally got Duke last night, and went ahead and got a Cutter. Great ship, loving it so far. However there are two graphical errors that i noticed.

The first is the Xbox GPP decal. The decal is supposed to be black and chrome. Except on the Cutter the chrome part is a vibrant teal, and its quite ugly.

The second is the (amazing) heat sinks. There are three heat sinks that rise out of the top-rear of the cutter when the ship heats up. Two of the three heat sinks are only visible when the camera is fairly close to them. After a short distance two of them disappear while the third remains visible.

Is this a bug that surfaced recently? I dont think this is something that goes unnoticed for over a year.

It's a lod setting, the game renders a lower quality model from a certain distance when certain details can't be seen anyway due to the distance.
They use this to lower the load on system resources, memory, gpu power, etc.
In the Cutter's case the lower quality model is rendered to soon hence the disappearing of certain detail at a reasonably short distance.
FD can set the distance at which a lower quality model is rendered, I hope they'll fix this, the heat dispensers are a very nice detail on the Cutter.

I think I've seen screenshots from pc where this isn't happening and the extended heat dispensers are visible from a far greater distance.

That makes sense. In this case if the camera is not right next to them they wont render, and only two of them at that. The issue with the GPP decal, thats something that isnt performance related and i hope is addressed soon.

The game's always had those kinds of issues, to varying degrees on different ships, hasn't it? The DBX's covers for the starboard and port weapons actually change texture and colour when you zoom, and various other details blink in and out of existence. I can't be sure, but I think it was even worse pre-Commanders.

So far the Python doesn't seem to suffer glaringly noticeable render issues, but maybe I've just not looked hard enough, and I've only used it post-Commanders. A disappearing heat sink on a large ship seems like a particularly iffy example of it, though.

Just this week I filed a bug report on the paints for the Anaconda, when you are relatively close they're fine but when you zoom out a bit they deform on the sides.
This wasn't the case prior to 2.3, I checked the screenshots I made earlier.

And when you use one of the new pulse paints on the Python you get an annoying shimmering line right where the glas meets the hull right in front of you in the cockpit.
