Attention all Xbox CMDRs pledged to the Imperial powers!
It is my pleasure to bring to your attention a common, easy-to-use medium of communication between Imperial pilots in the form of an IRC. A Discord server has been made with the intention of bringing Imperial Xbox CMDRs together while separating communications from PC mediums.
The present concerns resulting in the establishment of this server are as follows:
Our community is quickly growing and we have over 120 members, with more than 20 online at any given time. We have multiple rooms within the server for specific functions, and a standard organizational hierarchy based on faction representation.
Players of ALL groups are welcome to communicate with other Imperial pilots in any way, including real-time group advertisement, offering of assistance, wing requests... the possibilities are endless.

About Discord
The platform for our IRC is Discord. After reviewing numerous IRCs, we all determined Discord is the best. Very easy to use, with a simple registration, Discord has very basic yet streamlined IRC functions and a efficient dedicated mobile application for on-the-go use. Both the browser app and the mobile app also support VOIP, however, being an Xbox group, the majority of voice communication occurs through Xbox. The occasional PC player (PC players comprise about 9 members in our group) utilizes the VOIP functions often.

- There is a significant difference in population between PC players and Xbox players. Coordinating physical meetings in-game to wing up proves difficult when having to speak and shuffle through the thousands of PC players.
- There is often platform-specific urgent information publicly posted that is obviously irrelevant to people of the other platform, specifically player locations (blockades, player-killers, etc.)
- The population of players is constantly increasing, and there is a growing need of communication mediums that cater to specific player-groups. A good example is the very existence of this forum itself, though our community here isn't streamlined for easy, instant chat and doesn't cater specifically to the Empire.
