Imperial Eagle Fix

Another thing to, i don't know it this was fixed or not, the imperial eagle needs to be fixed it overheats way to fast. I mean a medium weapon mount is great but the heat damage is a very bad risk. Even charging the FSD the ship overheats so frontier this NEEDS FIXING.

It's the ONE weakness that ship of that size has. It's extreme speed and overall better attributes than the Eagle makes it a ship with only ONE achilles heal, the heat. It's up to you to work around it.

-Since lasers VS shields are not affected by weapon mount size vs ship size take twin small lasers

-Take a top ballistic mount

-Do not use medium rails or plasma cannons

Don't use high heat weapons, it is a very cheap and very good ship, but it isn't meant to be perfect, none of the ships are.

I baked mine a few times while performing tight banking manoeuvres on Achenar 3. Lol

Then landed upside down.

For such a cheap ship, it's not bad.
I tend to use them for running ground missions, such as cut the power, or performance reviews.

Some ships *cough*Python*cough*, are just plain terrible with heat, and are basically in a permanent state of being on fire.
While others *cough*FDL*cough* almost never overheat, and can even charge the FSD while scooping fuel. Lol

lol. Bumped for you Cmdr.

I use IE as a local fighter that only rarely leaves the system on FSD (kewl because you don't show on traffic reports) but biggest thing is to make sure you've got a top end Power Distributor? I use a Medium Beam (turret) on top without any issues, unless forgetting to power pips to weapons (if I don't do that, she fries).

Embrace the heat damage. It can handle it and repair is cheap.

Heat sinks to extend your run time.

I think that's a bit far for the iEagle. In my eyes it's one of the poorest ships in the game; it takes a small and nimble build and gives it high speed at the cost of being pretty poor elsewhere. Compared to its non-imperial counterpart it replaces one hardpoint with a medium, higher speed and one class higher power plant. And for that, drops from the most agile ship in the game to the same agility rating as an asp explorer.

Now I know stats on paper can be misleading, but this ship is poor "off paper" too, which heat management issues you just don't want to be dealing with.

For cheaper, you can get an Adder, which drops some of that speed for strongly improved internal space, an extra utility mount, better sensors/fuel/jump range and more importantly some nicer handling.
