Ships Imperial Eagle variant missing some imperial style.

I see it as a cross between the original Eagle and the Courier. Not really more one than the other so from my personal subjective point of view they nailed it.

Dat spoiler though XD

Plenty of small ships still have utility in PvP.

Yes but they lack SCB room and that's the current thing that determine's the loser in PvP,. If you can stack enough you never reall can lose unless you're to dumb or stubborn to run. In group's sure they have usees, but 1v1 no bigger win's due to stupid game design.

Yep, shield meta still rules in PvP. He who has the most SCBs wins, and small ships by definition will have fewer SCBs that bigger ones. That said, I agree with the general sentiment. I have a DBS, Asp and Python, and I have the most fun by far in the DBS.

I don't agree that the deciding factor in PvP conflict is SCB capacity. It's a factor, but only one of many, and it's certainly not going to the limiting factor of something like an Eagle (even an improved one), which has shielding that will collapse under a stiff breeze.

He who has the most SCBs wins

The less experience people have in PvP the more likely they are to say this.

I'm looking forward to trying this ship, especially it's speed/manoeuvrability change. I hope to see more roles and reasons for use with the smaller ships in the future.
I would like more curves on it, especially the cockpit. A bubble canopy would go a long way to distinguishing this ship from it's Federal counterpart (aesthetically).

I think I should have said the one with more SCB's will never really lose, he has far too much time to know when to run. Again this is assuming 1v1 and smaller ship fighting bigger ship.

Spike damage has a lot to do with it too. I wish there were modules that could increase weapon power as a counter to SCBS and they would take the same slot as boosters.

Also not a fan of the looks, looks like they took a eagle stuck courier parts on and an imperial skin, just seems like a quick rehash.

I hate the spoiler. It makes no sense to me, looks ugly imo and spoils the perception of top-bottom symmetry (i.e. I would rather have the same spoiler on the bottom, too, or none at all).

Generally though, i would love if they would just taken this very model instead, not just the canopy, but everything, including the much smaller nacelles and streamlined nacelles and of course the absense of the spoiler: :D

Honestly, I wish they would spend a little time on this one, use the rounded canopy in above concept.
Maybe not use the smaller nacelles from the concept above, but at least having the reverse thrusters from the Mk2 deleted and incorporate reverse thrusters in the nacelles.

They probably won't do that simply because then the Imperial Eagle wouldn't look distinguishable enough from the usual Eagle.

What I would recommend for Frontier to do and would really like to see in the game:

Once the Imperial Eagle is out, change all "System Authority", "Internal Security Service" etc. Eagles inside Imperial Space into Imperial Eagles. Imperials are a proud people. I imagine they would rather use a ship representative of Imperial Design for their police and military forces than simply use one that the Federation phased out years ago.
