Could this be fixed so that these don't use 3X the fuel? It stands to reason that the fuel cost per 3 shot salvo should be similar to 1 shot salvo of regular rails.

Whilst I heartily agree with the request to lower the fuel consumption of plasma ammo generally... I just fit another fuel tank. Thus having more ammo.

Before SCO it was one of the easiest ways to chew up fuel if you needed to dump some for a long jump! It made sense then for a lot of reasons.

Rails are very good on small ships and a lot of the smaller ships simply don't have the space to spare for extra fuel tanks; nevermind the agility hit you would take with added fuel on some small ships.

Yeah, plasma slug is what enables railguns to be a viable weapon of choice for anything outside of one-off engagements, and due to the Imperial Hammer having 3x the fuel consumption with it, it goes from being a 'viable sidegrade' to 'never worth using in the vast majority of circumstances'.
