Hi all !

I'm normally on the X1 forum but this is somehting what concerns everyone who ranked up in the Empire.
So we all know the the Courrier,Clipper and the biggest of them all the Cutter.
But this not a topic about any of these ships I want tol talk about a true Imperial battleship/cruiser whatever you want to call it.
In my opinion the Imperials lack a big figthing ship , this ship would be on terms with an Annie,Python and Corvette.
It would have a big use in Powerplay because it would be able to play the role as fire support ship and tanker.
The ship's name will have as codename Nautilus for now (Inspired by Jules Vernes)the movie the League of Extraordinary gentlemen had a great design of this ship ( see picture ) and the original design ( see also picture ).
The ship would be unlocked on the rank of King in the Empire

OK let's get into some stats that this ship would have:

Dimensions: 200 L - 111,1 W - 40 H
Cost 350 million
Top speed 202 m/s
Boost speed 300 m/s
Manoeuverbility 2
Shields 700 MJ
Fuel 64 tons
Armour 945
Hull mass 2000 tons
Cargo capacity 164 tons
Unladen 9,41 ly
Landing pad size Large
Hardpoints 4x small
4 x medium
3 x large
1 x huge
Utility mounts 4
Internals 1x 8 compartment
1x 7 compartment
3x 6 compartments
2 x 5 compartments

Jump range feels way too high, especially when you take the minimum into acount you gave. Also its WAY to heavy. What most complain about the cutter is the lack of mobility which your should would even have on top. While in fact most people play the cutter too much like a smaller fighter, which it isn't. And wiht the geometry you gave it would be mostlikely a dead sitting duck form many angles. especially considering what shield strenght your ship with only 4 utilities woul get on a 2k mass. with a maximum Class 8 shield.

A real capital ship like support should better be something like 6 medium 4 small wepaons ad a huge main cannon So that the other hardpoitns can cover many angles at once.

Also the general stations "slot" design would indicate that enginees never would design vertical ships (which is kinda sad). I'd like to see a mini version of the Empire capital ship with this strange spinning ring.
However the nautilus design could be nice for the Alliance which yet has no own ships and "nautilus" is a bit more of an independend background and therefore would fit better to the Alliance than the Empire.

You have a point but still but something like true tank ships is needed for the Empire to have some decent punching player.

I don't think "punching" would define as Fire support.

if you want to tank, use soemthing like this http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=70_,5...,33CgCgB6BaB6Ba9s,7Xm7n216y16y16y16y16y15O0KU

Or alternatively slap tons OF SCB's into it. and use power control to activate them one after the other should your shields go down - and it woudl prevent the PP form beign shot in which case hull reinforcements don't actually help. That way you have your flying fortress.

or if you wanna go low speed fortress mode slap a prismatic on it http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=70_,5...,33CgB6B6BaB6Ba9s,7XR7n216y16y16y16y16y15O0KU
