Imperial Navy Ascension Op - Locate Black Box In System XX - How To Find It?

There are these types of rank increase missions. How do you locate the black box in the assigned system?

What do you need to collect it? Hopefully just a cargo scoop and one spare cargo hold spot for each black box.

One of the many USS/WSS:s has it. And yes, only thing you need is cargo scoop + cargo space.

Fly around in target system and drop in to USS and/or WSS (unknown and weak signal sources) and check if there is cargo canister called black box. If you are lucky you will find one on first or second USS or WSS. If you are unlucky you can spend hours and never find it. So its just dropping to those and hoping for luck. Black boxes are quit common on USS and WSS it probably won't take that long.

Or you could take a delivery mission - I had one mission out at 17 Draconis for Ancient Artifacts. Spent an hour in SC and only had 3 SS's to drop into. Ships in 2 and Stolen Data in the final one.

I went back to 17 Drac when the mission timer ran out. Got 3 missions all wanting stolen data (which I hadn't bothered scooping!). Took 1 of them and spent another hour trying to find an SS that had stolen data - nothing at all.

In the end I went back to the bubble and picked up a data delivery mission to rank up at the first Fed station I stopped at.

Weak Signal Sources, and Salvageable Wreckage.

cargo scoop and cargo space; i personally fit a collector limpet, too - in case something is waiting for you; it is sometimes hard to scoop and fire, and not to destroy the cargo - and sometimes npc try to pick it up before your nose!
