Imperial Navy

I have decide to align myself with the Empire (The Feds are so full of themselves, well so is the Empire, but the Feds are just over the top for me). Problem is, I show as Friendly to them, but I am not getting any offers of Naval progression missions. I am a Midshipman with the Federation, a mistake, I know, but I am unfriendly with the Feds now and Friendly with the Empire. Any ideas what's going on? I've even been in a couple of systems that are controlled by the same faction as the faction that controls Achenar, the Imperial Capitol system, and still nothing. The stations of that faction are even Green on my radar.

Keep doing minor faction missions, then at some point one of our Navy pen pushers will notice you and start sending missions your way.

I find data delivery missions does move things up generally anything where the cargo is provided or is there isn't any. I did missions for ages and got nowhere then flitted between Daii,Chere and Nocopani and got squire in an evening.

I found that the better your standing with a certain fraction is, the slower you proceed ... might be helpfull to change to another system with other fractions then

The missions like 'Start the weekend...' are meant to be good for rep .... i know when i just moved up from Viscount to Earl i did the donation of 4m credits one too

You don't need to sacrefice rep with Feds to get rep with anyone else.... i'm Allied with all 3 major factions and ranked about 1/2 way with Fed and top now with Empire and have homeworld permits for all 3 .... just pick sites which benefit only one faction but don't cause negative rep for the others

I have been at Count for 6 weeks. I have allied myself with 24 minor Imperial factions (yes I wrote all of them down, as well as the system and controlling stations), and still have the Facece permit sitting in the unobtainable section of the bulletin boards. Ran at least 150 missions, getting all influence into the blue. Trying my hardest to get to Earl, but think its bugged. I have read that it should not be this hard and think the system must be bugged. Surely I should have been noticed by now and give the last mission to Earl. I am going to wait until week end and file a ticket to have them look.

Well, I would like to have the Imperial Clipper, which requires Baron rank or higher, although I've heard some of the backwater stations will sell it to you if you are a Count. That's just what I've heard; have no idea how correct it is.

Donation missions help the most, so if you see something that says donate 40k credits some weapons, food etc. those will give you the most points towards a new rank

As a Fed, yes I am fully satisfied with my endeavors. And also as a Fed, the Imperial Navy can eat my rails.

Funny, I feel the same way about the Fed Navy:D.

Come to the Alliance! We have cookies and are not full of ourselves at all :D

I'll give the Alliance that. They pretty much keep to themselves unless you mess with one of their members. Then it's all bets are off. They take care of their own. I'll consider it, but I want that Imperial Clipper. Once I get it, I might just defect.:D

When I restarted in the Empire with a Federation rank of Lt. Commander, I traded between 3 Empire systems and picked up the odd charity mission (hand with a + over it) with the dominant power in each system, and only with the dominant powers. I sometimes picked up normal missions for the dominant powers as well when I took breaks from trading. Took me less than a week to rise from unfriendly to Count. (I played several hours per day that period, though)
I also went from a type 6 via Asp to a Clipper in that period :D

We don't even bother with faction specific ships!
I only wonder: will we have to pledge to the Feds to get our hands on the Federal Corvette, or can we - as long as we do not openly p¡ss them off - rely on our previously acquired naval rank to be sufficient...

And now I'm getting offers but I can't accept them because the mission verbiage is bugged. They want me to deliver $##CommodityName (No instructions on where to deliver it to). Or they want me to procure $##CommodityName, and even worse, there is no quantity specified that I must procure. I could accept these missions, but I am not willing to risk getting a bad rep with them for non-completion of a mission because of a bug.
