Horizons Imperial Rank XP question

Hi folks,

This isn't a complaint or criticism, but more of an observation and a question. I returned to the game about 2 weeks ago after about a 9 month break and as a I have about 200 million credits and a fully A rated python I thought I would try for the Imperial Cutter. I was at Knight when I started and after doing some research it seemed the Hip 10716 / Wu was the best location to level ranks.

Running courier missions it took me about a week to get through the ranks to Viscount and that where I ran into problems. Over the next week with the same amount of playtime I have only managed to make it 62% of the way through the rank.

So my question is - what happened? I understand the ranks have an exponentially increasing XP requirement, but it really feels like something else changed. Has anyone else run into this or is there something I am missing that has made this system no longer viable?

Sadly, the nerfbat has been brandished with a little too much enthusiasm of late. This has the unfortunate effect of making it appear as though progression of any kind in the game is practically non-existent.

I am Baron and it took me 3 solid weeks of mission running just to get to 70%
