imperial slave smuggling?

I was about to experiment with some imperial slave smuggling out of empire system to a neighbouring independent.

In the legit imperial station the imperial slaves cost around 17,000 credits. How much can I hope to get for them on the black market? Large wealthy economy?

I doubt you'll even be able to sell them on the black market. Moreover 17k is a rather steep price for imp slaves - I buy them at least 1000 credits lower.

Oh? What's the point of the black market / smuggling then? I thought the whole point was to buy illegal goods in that sector, of is it just for stolen "normal" trade goods...

Or is missions the only way to make money from running slaves? I'm very unclear how all this works and am currently doing some minor bounty hunting...

Thats alot. I paid 15500 for mine and struggled to make a profit. What on earth possessed you to pay that price? Thats well over the gal ave.

I haven't paid it. I'm wondering whether the black market would pay a premium for illegal slaves (rendering normal pricing moot) or a rubbish price. That's my main question, because at black market contacts you can't get prices until you have something to sell

Concerning black markets, it's better someone else answers your question as I haven't used one since early beta.

Considering trading in imperial slaves, I just trade them between imperial stations just like any commodity. Only used the normal slaves for missions involving them.

I smuggled mine to a black market, got about 15600 each for them. 100cr profit each. Never bothered again.

The smuggling missions are great but smuggling for money is not generally as rewarding as you'd expect. Most cases you get 50 per cent of the market value because they haven't finished that part of the game yet.

Does smuggling and selling imperial slaves on the black market in Federation space warrant any extra pennies?

Probably not - even though there's probably a high demand for slaves.

However, if you perserve you can engineer a fun smuggling route. I can make about 150000 per tonne profit per item I smuggle but its very rare.

Every smuggling trade run I did either made a loss or just broke even, just isn't worth it right now.

You can sell them at a Federation Black Market. I did it just after launch. I didn't really keep an eye on the profit so I can't help there.

Yeah I'm sure I can still them, but smuggling need to show a profit or else why bother? The fact the slaves are illegal SHOULD command a premium as to get them you need to offer enough to make people being you them....

Totally agree.

I do it because it's more fun than grinding for cash. It adds adventure!

But in game rewards are terrible. Mostly because you can pick up cargo floating around in space. Why bother trading when you could just hang around the nearest planet to the station and pick stuff up and get a higher return than traveling to another system?

They need to sort out salvage and smuggling as two very different things. Folk are just getting miffed and disappointed. I guess I honestly couldn't be bothered with the grind for cash if it wasn't for the element of risk that smuggling brings to the game. Sadly the rewards are pretty awful for most folk who just want to give it a go.

I would have thought the ones to smuggle would be the illegal slaves, not imperial ones

About smuggling, I do it when I have to get rep with a faction and they ask for illegal stuff
All the cargo I 'find', I sell it on an anarchy outpost

Some of us have dabbled in smuggling, but less for financial gain and more to damage a system we feel should be taken down a peg or two. So it is possible to end up smuggling out of principal. I personally have never smuggled any slaves.

Dont bother with smuggling (imp)slaves to black markets it will be very little per ton.Not worth the fines after scan.I tried this myself.Smuggling only works with missions if you want good profit,or legal trading between Zemina systems(4000-5000Cr. per ton)rank 5 with her will give you nice dividend legal activity included,no risk involved.
