Imperial Summons to Achenar

So I got the above titled mission, to go see some diplomatic guy in Achenar. I made the journey of about 40LY, spent a few hours looking around Achenar for the 'diplomatic mission' mentioned in the quest.

And found nothing.

Visited all the stations zillions of km apart, even found a capital ship which I can't contact.
What am I doing wrong guys?

If it's the same mission I got, I think it isn't really a mission at all. It's just a way to tell you that you've been given a System Permit that lets you go to Achenar. Certainly, I had the same experience as you - went there, hung out a bit, did not see any mission-related messages.

Nothing, you simply got the permit for Achenar there. It's the same with the Feds, there is never anything special in the newly permitted systems, maybe at a later time.

I did notice another system next door to Achenar on the navigation screen, it was in red ink and looks like you need a permit to enter it. That must be the next phase I guess.

Devs, please fix this bug! I now have THREE separate simultaneous missions titled Imperial Summons, all to Achenar. Cannot accept them because I've already got the permit. They have been in the discussion board for a long time and no other advancement missions have come up.

Please delete this broken summons missions and let me get back on track going up Imperial ranks.

I had it show until after I visited stations in Achenar and left for a system with shorter distances between stations.

I get other ascention missions now.

Heh. I saw an "unobtainable" (because I already had the permit?) Imperial Summons mission telling me to go to Summerland system. In the Summerland system.

Is it possible to progress up the ranks with this achenar permit bug? I still see it in the options in bulletin board....?

Yes, you can still progress with Naval Ascension missions, which will show regardless of the summons misisons..

I get stacking unobtainable "Summons" missions in every station I visit since 1.06 dropped, but I'm still able to progress in rank.

It's not actually a mission, the wording is very misleading. It's simply notifying you you're now eligible for access to that system (f you accept it).

I didn't get any progression offers for weeks. I moved to a new area, did a trade route for a while, I was allied with the local faction and decided to take a mission for a change of pace. Immediately after completing the mission I got a new offer, and have been seeing a permit offer to a system I received the permit for in 1.05 ever since.


Get allied, then do a couple empire missions, then wait.

Hi there. ;) The mission text for this really needs to be changed as it's very misleading.
The mission text reads as follows:

"IMPERIAL SUMMONS
Greetings, Commander. I am hereby issuing a summons for your personal attendance at our diplomatic branch in Achenar.
Upon arrival, you will receive an encrypted communique from Regional Task Force HQ."

The use of words like "summons", "your personal attendance" and "upon arrival" all suggest that the mission requires the player to actually visit the system. Brevity is your friend. ;)
