Impossible Mission

Federal Navy Mission to kill 3 pirates in LHS 1409.

Only problem is LHS 1409 is a barren wasteland and there are zero ships here. No USS, no nav beacons, nothing in SC !

What am I supposed to do here ?

Typical military mission...

Cruise around. Visit the planets, circle the suns, and maybe you come across USS once in a while. Can take an hour.

I feel you. I had few smillar missions like that..
One was "kill X pirates (in empty system)... I was circling around sun for chance of USS.. took me about an hour..
Next was Naval Progression mission, and somebody granted me my wish to not repeat previous encounters.. again empty system, but after i dropped from HS, i was greeted with SSS nearby with the target in it.
Now im checking the target sector first before i accept missions like that..

Wish you strong nervers and luck for those missions.

Yeah the SSS´s are guarantee of getting the pirate kills.. USS have very high chance for counteroffer or other pointless randomness (convoy, floating debris..)
