Impossible Spec-Ops contracts...

So, I took a random spec-ops mission... killing civilians (ye, I'm a bad guy like that...)
But the damn RNG won't spawn the 27 specific targets in the target system... it's like the damn needle in the hay stash...

in 2 hours I got 1 or 2 kills... not what I call a winning number...

Any way to get more NPCs from one specific faction? x)

They are starting to irk me too. The Kill x Pirates aren't quite so frustrating, at least you know what you are signing up for.

Hopefully these will be rebalanced in the next update. I think the basic format of tooling around in SC with your interdictor hanging out is okay, but each instance should offer a couple of target choices. Currently it seems to be every 3rd or 4th atm, it alternates between a pirate on, a police one and a power play one, with the occasional no NPCs at all one presumably to provide some respite. I don't need recovery time built in, I can just not interdict the next one if I'm not starved of target choice ;)

Maybe reduce the number required too, at least by half.

For now, just keep switching instances by dropping into USSs. I think the design intent is that you visit each RES, nav beacon & main body at least once, but dropping down & jumping back again has worked out quicker for me. Still takes ages though :(

well, I tried to jump out at the closest planetary outpost that belongs to the said faction, but that went south pretty quickly, no need for details, but red base+red NPCs+highly wanted CMDR... well, bad results happen...

The worst is, the target system has 2 res sites, one nav beacon and only a few landable bodies... well, 2 stations, but I don't like the idea of ripping open civilian ships right in front of the toast rack :D

Same experience. Spent like 5 hours to kill 1/3 of the 28 civilian clowns. Failed the mission, got wanted and all that crap and wasted time for nothing. There's only a few mission types left that are not a complete waste of time these days.

Just fit an interdictor & pull them out one at a time. I wouldn't fancy risking the wrath of the station guns either ;)

Whatever the problem is, ever.. it will be addressed in the next update. So just fly in circles until then. See if you can shoot your own ship.

Where were you looking?

Fit a FDI and it is weighted they will appear more in SC
Also try USSes - Threat 2 & 3 Weapons fire will have them often as the target of Private attack and try Convoy USSes

was looking in almost every ring, every RES, in SC and even on planets...

fitting an FDI? Federal Defense Initiative? Dunno, I don't think strapping one of those dudes to the front of my ship works beyond having a laugh seeing him fight the G's and space dust unprotected :D

I never fly without my interdictor if that's what you mean. My Vulture is a hunting ship after all x)

But no mission targets in sight, and no threat 2 or 3 USSs, just random empty threat 0 stuff...

Spec Ops missions not spawning mission objective ships.
Massacre missions not spawning mission objective ships.

Why does these missions haven't been taken down "for investigation"? Or is that move restricted for high paying missions only?

Such problems are well-known to but ignored by Frontier since what? Over a full year now?

Recommendation : avoid "Kill x Ships" Missions like the plague until the spawn rate bug is fixed, maybe in 2019 or 2020.

The only exception are Warzone Missions, as those naturally don't have the issue. Always plenty of Mission Targets by design.
But otherwise? Expect a Mission Target spawn rate of approx. ~3 Mission Targets per hour (although one can get luckier on occasion). Good luck executing any typical Mission with that abysmal spawn rate.

So thats assassination missions bugged, massacre missions bugged and now spec ops missions...cool its the three amigos.

Remember the cash exploit missions? All over them inside the week...missions that waste time however...much lower priority it seems.
