I have a related question regarding High Security +++ bases. Today I was a bit hasty and greedy when I saw three stacked missions for the same base that I could swear was ++ (kill the same skimmers), so I took them. Got there, when I scanned the planet it turned out to be a +++, landed and started sniffing out with my SRV when suddenly explosions started happening all around me. I started running in one of the most exciting SRV drives with an enemy ship firing missiles and me avoiding them. However, when rails started hitting me with absolute precision I died instantly. Tried three more times (did not try to hunker down in some corner and wait for them to come to me) and failed. The question is could any mission with +++ bases could be done with SRV, is it technically possible?
Horizons Impossible to kill 8 goliath at a super well defended base?... unless you give me tipps

I don't abandon many missions, but recently did abandon an emplacement generator mission at a +++
You may be able to do it if you're really patient... I'm not that patient. After three tries, and getting handily blow up by a Cobra III (apparently, they take exception to you shooting back), I dropped the mission and moved on.
I would love to wing up with some folks and try one of these +++ generator missions.
Tip: for skimmers, hit the main base as a last resort. You can find them at most any POI within 100km of the main settlement.

This is a good tip - I've been doing this for kill skimmer missions I also find dumbfire missiles are great shot into the ground under the skimmer and you can take two or three down with one shot.
Got greedy - took an 8 Goliaths for 5.X M Cr mission.....lost two ships and an SRV - It had 3 Eagles defending gave up and abandoned in favour of quicker but less rewarding skimmer missions which balances in invested time v's reward in the end
