Impounding wanted ships through ship transfer

Hi CMDRs

This is a little idea that came to me a few days ago some may find in an interesting others find it to be silly or unnecessary.

So I had racked up a good bit of bounty on my python as i have been using it for missions I knew I would get a bounty for doing aka planetary scan bit of wet works. After I had close to a 100k bounty on the ship then moving to a new system I thought I wouldn't be able to transfer the python to the new station due to the bounties on its head only to notice you just have to pay a little more for it to be moved.
Then it came to mind why can't this ship be caught in transfer? And you are sent a message saying it has been impounded at the closest detention center. To me this would make it more risky moving wanted ships between station as i always thought when transferring a ship its loaded into a large hauling class ship and sent out in X amount of time. So what's to say SysSec won't scan this ship and find you're wanted ship in the cargo hold.

There can be a threshold before this can start happening to me id say a 100k-150k bounty would be needed on the ship before this could happen to stop the annoyance with small bounties. In the long term this will push you more to ever flying the ship to your new station of work and keeping the bounty or make you go to an interstellar factors to pay off the bounty.

Any other thoughts and opinions on this idea?
It'd good to see people find the loop hole there normally is one :D

I think the idea of wanted ships is ridiculous in the first place (and I said as much in the open feedback thread when this change was proposed), so I'm not a fan of putting further restrictions on ships. that said, I think the reason you pay more to transfer a "hot" ship is because you're using a Black Market ship transfer facility so it wouldn't make sense for them to impound your ship.

It just doesn't sound very fun.

Transfer your Corvette and then get stuck in a DBX.

No mention of what happens to the impounded ship or how you can get it back.
Or is it gone forever. How do you visualize this happening?

I am missing the gameplay element. What fun is this supposed to add? As a general rule of thumb, 'realism' without attached gameplay mechanics arent fun.

100k?

That's like two kills...

Also. You can't transfer wanted ships to areas where you're wanted and outside of faction area where you commited the crime... No one cares if the ship is wanted.

I love this idea!

You can get your ship back by going to a detention facility and paying off the bounty and rebuy.

EDIT:

We can take it a step further. Know how you need to pay cleaning fees on stored hot modules? How about impound a wanted ship when it’s stored too? But only in the same super power jurisdiction.

Could open up legitimate piracy too, by having super powers issue privateer charters that make ships immune to impound.

Think you read past this part. Sent a message saying it has been impounded at the closest detention center.

maybe a rebuy would be too far since any of the Large ships have a high rebuy price with and without engineering.
