Impressed!

Finally caved and joined the beta, very impressed with the engine, only have Intel 4000 HD here, so in the DK2 at 1080p it struggles, hope the GTX 750 on my other machine will be sufficient on lowest everything to get 75 FPS.

I have built this game; http://aeonalpha.com which is a tribute to all these space sims, but with a lowpoly twist, thought you might enjoy it, thinking of the original Elite and so on.

C u in the game I guess!

i dont have the most cutting edge rig out there, but so far i've been really impressed with the game's performance and optimisation, the one exception being the delay in going from SC/HS to normal flight mode, but not sure if that's server side or on my end!

What are your specs? Can anyone with GTX 750 Ti share framerate?

The delays between normal space and hyperspace/SC space aren't graphical, loading etc, they are due to reconciling you with the local instance... in other words they are the server "fitting you into what's already going on around you". I expect that'll improve with time as FD improves the net code etc.

Elite is pretty easy on the computer. Most of my rig is over 4 years old with a GTX650ti and it's fine at max settings.

Yes, but what resolution and FPS, I need to half that on the DK2 and still reach 75 FPS!

FYI for those that don't know you can find out what your FPS is by pressing ctrl-f at any time within the game. (Ctrl-b will show you your bandwidth usage too. I haven't found any more similar tricks yet. :) )

Can't tell you about the GTX750, but I can tell you that I'm using an R9-280X and I run full screen on triple monitors with a 5760x1080 resolution, high graphics settings, and get 50-60fps in space and 45-50 in stations. Other stats are CPU: i7-3770K, MEM: 16gb DDR3, HD: 250mb SSD.

A GTX750 might struggle to maintain low persistence

I have an R9 290X DD and it struggles not to have some judder and most people who play with a 780Ti also report the game still has the judder.

We suspect it's actually the game and not the GPUs that is struggling. There's alot written about it in the lengthy thread devoted to the DK2 players. Enjoy :)

The new SDK might help with judder. We'll have to see.

you need to buy a new GPU to really enjoy the beauty of this galaxy ;)

I just bought the passive GTX 750 Ti, and wasted money on a passive Radeon 240 something before that, which actually performed less than the integrated Intel GPU!

I don't want a 200-250 watt noisy and expensive beast, my game in the OP actually runs at 200 FPS in 1080p, double barril on my Intel 4000 HD!

I wish Frontier could add a "render ugly as hell, but fast as hell" option so I could play the game in silence, without simulator sickness and not waste resources!

Good to know about your R9, there is hope, will see in a few days!

Low persistence is either on or off, it has to do with the refresh rate, if you set that to 75 Hz the screen will blit the image for 2 ms. But I agree that it probably will struggle to reach 75 FPS!

I can recommend you try my game in the OP, you will get insane FPS, probably around 500 FPS in DK2!

you have a good points here, but i just never listen to my pc while gaming, there are too many things going on in game and usually i turn on my headset so i don't hear anything, but it does make noise - when i take off headphones i do hear that :)

I'm running a 660ti with a i5 3570 (I think!) and I have maxed out the settings. There's a tiny bit of stutter at times but it's no biggie really, plus the game looks lovely.

I'm thinking of investing in a 780 though...

Yes, but I sleep in the same room and the PC is controlling some Bitcoin mining hardware across the house in the winter to heat it so it needs to be on 24/7...
