This game has surpassed my expectations.. This is probably one of the best online games I've ever played at release. So far I've played exclusively bounty hunter and have made a lot of easy money (a couple 150K bounties early on helped a lot). I really want to try some of the other elements of the game (exploring, trading, etc) but combat is just too much fun at the moment

Trust me... You haven't made "a lot" of money. Or any money at all, for all practical intents and purposes (if you're aspiring toward larger ships -- otherwise, disregard).

I think the OP was concentrating on the "fun" portion more than the money portion of the game.

I too haven't made a lot of money (couple of millions) but I'm having fun. And I'm already in the ship of my dreams from the get-go - the trusty Cobra MK III. There's no other ship I want.

Mind you I may buy a Viper or an Adder to "collect" them and fly them when I feel like it, but my main ship will be my Cobra.
