I wrote some things down, then forgot about them. I wouldn't think of them now, actually, but I think they're good points:
- Firstly, tutorials. A limpet tutorial and a land-on-a-planet tutorial. And also, an additional tutorial to land on a hi-g planet! Simple as all get-out, the first one is just to harvest one specific resource with one limpet, then reset it and use one untargeted limpet to suck up several targets. The planetary landign ones are even simpler, just land on a planet and done.
Because my first limpet was lost, as new players don't realize quite how limpets work. And I of course borked my first planetary landing.
- Secondly: a "ban" button for refineries. It can even be per-session. Because a 3-bin-refinery newbie miner should not have to sit there dumping water, or oxygen every few seconds. It got annoying, and makes small-ship mining obnoxious. Mining is bad enough as it is, without adding in busywork like that.
- Tutorial for SRV sonar. It is explained in exactly ZERO places how the sonar works, I ignored it at first. Wavescanner.net explained more than anything official ever did, and far far better (even if the site crashed whenever I went back to driving...)
- Multicrew is utter crap. I've used it a bunch, and I think the number of intentional disconnects can still be counted on one hand. This is unacceptable, and makes the devs look foolish. Multicrew exploration is particularly pointless, as the crew has no role, and no incentive AT ALL.
