Improved Combat system idea for JWE3

In the 2 previous games, dinosaur combat has been turn-based and too static. I believe moving toward a more dynamic and less predictable combat system would greatly enhance realism and fun. Large predators, for instance, could wrestle and bodily grapple with one another rather than exchanging out-of-sequence bite attacks. Imagine a Tyrannosaurus and an Indominus fighting, jaws locking, pushing each other back, colliding into buildings, and attempting to knock the other off balance with the outcome decided by their respective stats such as strength, stamina, or dominance.

This would make fights appear more random and natural, less scripted. Colliding with fences or buildings may result in added damage and destroy the environment around them.

Combat Styles by Dinosaur Type

Smaller carnivores, like Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus, could be more agile, high-speed combatants. Picture mid-air crashes, jumps, or knockdowns—again contingent upon stats like previous games.

Sauropods should be allowed to fight back. Their size and strength would make them lumbering "tanks" with powerful tail-whips that can deal massive damage or repel predators. Their biggest weakness would be speed, making them vulnerable to swift pack hunters. This would not only get rid of the previous concept that the biggest and most aggressive carnivore makes it the strongest, it would actually turn into a weakness. Turning their size and aggressiveness into their own kyptonite against a sauropod.

Ceratopsids may engage in horned battles with a focus on shoving, ramming, and toppling their opponent. Environmental interaction—such as pushing foes against objects could have a strategic purpose.

Ornithomimids, being prey, would not require elaborate combat animations, but more hunt/flee animations would help to reduce the perception of repetition in predator situations.

I understand that fully freeform fighting could be challenging to implement, but even a half-scripted system with more diversity and interactivity in the style of the mobile game Animal Revolt Battle Simulator but more refined—would be a significant improvement on the current format.
